    This was the first production bike to go 150 mph.  That seems slow by today's standards, but this was the fastest bike money could buy in 1984.I bought this particular bike in Long Beach, CA in 2014.  I brought it with me to North Carolina when I moved here.  I left it sitting when I went overseas.   The bike is complete, but not running.  The carbs will have to be sunk and the bike will need a battery. I imagine this bike will have collector appeal to some but not others.  In any event, there will be work involved in getting this bike running-- and you will have a great bike when you are done.  Me, I have 5 motorcycles and I'm tired of telling myself that this is the year I'm going to get the bikes running. At the Motodays show in Rome, Honda announced a hardcore version of the Africa Twin, featuring Dakar styling, technical innovations and a price tag that surpasses the exterior of the motorcycle in severity. The Italian division of Honda has comprehensively modified the CRF1000L, giving it the dashing style of an experimental vehicle along the way. There is a pretty good attempt to endow the motorcycle with the features of a Dakar monster.

Honda has patented its development in the field of interactive technologies that prevent accidents, following BMW. The Japanese proposed a warning system about the danger that lies in wait for the driver in the blind zone. Honda engineers have proposed equipping the motorcycle with cameras and radars that will detect dangerous proximity to another vehicle or pedestrian and warn the driver through light indication or tactile feedback.

The reason was the vibration from the engine, which over time leads to chafing of the fall sensor wire in the common harness.
