This bike is a 1999 and is in good shape but not show room so please look at photo's good and ask any questions you need.

    This motorcycle needs to used.  I have owned it 1988.  It came from “Cue” at House of Triumph in Elmsford NY with 68,000 miles on the clock..  It has always been my second bike, lightly used and garaged.  Weekend  rides have added about 6000 miles.  It now shows just over 74,000 miles.  In the fall of 2011 it underwent substantial mechanical restoration at Max BMW (Brookfield Ct)  which included rebuilding carburetors, draining and cleaning fuel tank, new brake pads and rotors at the front and new brake shoes at the rear,  new center stand, air filters, new throttle and choke cables,  new horns, new fluids (fork, brakes,  new top-end seals.  Total investment was $5100.  It has a fork brace, café faring, original grips, lots of tread on Metzler tires.  “Easy Clutch” is installed. EICMA 2012: BMW Motorrad Celebrates 90th Anniversary with Special Edition R1200GS, R1200R and R1200RT

BMW announced it will introduce an all-new Boxer to celebrate its 90th year of motorcycle production, but you didn’t think the German manufacturer would stop there without a couple of other special edition models, did you? To mark the anniversary, BMW revealed special edition “90 Jahre BMW Motorrad” versions of its R1200GS adventure bike, R1200R roadster and R1200RT tourer in Milan at the 2012 EICMA Show. All three models come in a Sapphire Black Metallic color with matte black engines, gold anodized suspension and brakes, and asphalt gray metallic swingarms, trailing arms and rear frames, and granite gray metallic cylinder head covers, and a nickel-plated polished brass plate on the upper fork.

EICMA 2012: BMW F800GT Announced as Replacement for F800ST

As we reported in August, BMW is replacing its F800ST sport tourer with a new, more touring-oriented version called the F800GT. Revealed at the 2012 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy, the 2013 BMW F800ST is equipped with a 798cc parallel Twin engine claiming 88 hp at 8000rpm, an increase from the BMW F800ST’s claim of 84 hp at 8000rpm (the 2012 F700GS and F800GS also claims 84hp from a similar engine.) Other changes include better wind protection, lighter wheels, new higher-mounted handlebars, repositioned footrests, and load capacity increased to 456 pounds from 432 pounds. Like all current BMW motorcycles, the F800GT comes standard with ABS.

BMW reported a new company record for third quarter motorcycle sales, selling 26,755 BMW motorcycles in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2012. The record result is a 1.7% increase over the 26,312 units sold in the third quarter of 2011.

Honda announced in a dry-as-you-like press release that a new bike was coming.  Not another motorcycle-cum-medical aid like the DN-01 or Integra, this is going to be a proper bike. A bike in a similar vein to previous bikes in the RC series, the RC30, RC45 and RC51, aimed squarely at winning races. So what's it going to look like?

30th Anniversary Edition BMW K1300S Announced for EICMA

BMW announced it will mark the 30th anniversary of its K series with a special edition K1300S. The 2013 BMW K1300S “30 Jahre K-Modelle” will be presented at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, Italy in a couple of weeks’ time. Though perhaps not as popular as BMW‘s R series boxer models, the K series served as a platform for a number of technologies that were either new for BMW or new for the motorcycle industry.

2007-2008 BMW K1200R, K1200S Recalled for Foaming Brake Fluid

BMW is issuing a recall on the 2007-2008 K1200S, K1200R and K1200R Sport models due to a problem with the front brake hydraulics. In long rides at high rpms, engine vibrations may cause the full front brake fluid to foam. This would occur at a very narrow rev range and only when the brake fluid reservoir is filled to maximum.

The “One World, One GS” Tour will give five riders the opportunity to be one of the first people in the world to ride the 2013 BMW R1200GS. The tour will take place over five continents: Asia through Laos, Africa through Botswana and South Africa, New Zealand, America through the southwestern states, and Europe from Madrid, Spain to BMW‘s home in Munich, Germany.
