1978 Kawasaki Kz1000 LTD. This is a super clean, low mile (9,246), and original bike in excellent condition. Starts, runs, drives, and stops just as it should. Engine is smooth, quiet, and powerful. Does not smoke or leak oil. Original paint is shiny in excellent condition. Chrome is also excellent. Seat has no holes or tears. All electrical items work correctly. I believe the only non-original part the on bike is the front tire. An excellent example a nearly 40yr. old bike that was bought new here in town and has been well taken care of and not altered in any way. Hard to find 1978 Kawasaki Z1R, Kawasaki's entry into the Superbike war of 1978. Good running, well kept bike. Bike was painted black sometime in the 1980's and the stripe kit to duplicate the 1980 Z1R paint job was added later. There are small nicks and dings but is still shiny and presentable. Seat is cover is a very nice newer duplicate. Exhaust is a Vance and Hines 4 into 1 that's a few years old and in very good condition. Not real loud but has a nice sound. Bike runs good, tank is clean inside and it has no oil or gas leaks. Tires are older but serviceable. Original kickstarter lever that belongs under the seat is gone and stock windshield was replaced 2 years ago. Have the little chrome cover that goes over the seat lock but the spring is missing. Fresh oil change and new battery. Everything works but the fuel gauge. Overall a good rider quality bike or a good candidate for full restoration. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. She's a numbers matching KZ1000A with 39,000 highway miles, the chrome is nice, paint is in fair condition with some fading and normal wear for a bike that's 35 years old. The bike runs strong, the carbs were gone over and cleaned, has a new battery powering Dyna coil packs. It will need a new rear tire in the future. We have all keys with matching locks, this is a really nice bike you can hop on and ride her home. But unlike the current parallel-twin Ninja 400, which is essentially a budget bike dressed in sportbike clothes, this newest model is worthy of the ZX prefix, as it boasts proper suspension, twin radial brakes, a full electronics suite, and chassis geometry inspired by its ZX-6R and ZX-10R siblings – oh, and let’s not forget – a compact four-banger that will rev to over 15,000 rpm!

The alternative energy models are part of Kawasaki’s efforts to reach carbon neutrality, with production models expected to launch in the next two to three years. Most of the prototypes used Kawasaki’s new Go with Green Power logo which will be used on its carbon neutrality efforts.
