I turned it into a bike that could complete in vintage motocross races.. Have only ridden this bike 2 times since going through it. Once on a Saturday for a hour to test it out and then the next day at a vintage motocross race at Glen Helen. This bike was 2 into the first turn both moto's and then went on to win its class. Selling it because now I have 1979 Can-Am 250 that I can race in the same class. Bike is a little hard sometimes going into first gear into a tight turn but other then that that is runs great. Up for sale is a nice 100% ready to go 1996 Honda XR400 dirt bike. This bike starts right up, has lots of power, idles and revs amazingly smooth, and shifts through all the gears nicely. It doesn't smoke or make any odd noises and the XR400 is known world-wide as one of the most reliable dirt bikes that Honda has ever produced. They are VERY low maintenance and extremely durable. This bike is in really nice condition, especially for a 1996. Everything works on it, even the headlight. The suspension is great with no leaks, as well as the brakes, frame, chain (newer gold chain installed) and sprockets, and other mechanical components. The tires have good tread, the seat is in great shape with no rips or fading, and the plastics and graphics are new including one side panel and front and rear fenders. This bike is all set and ready to ride and needs nothing. It has TONS of torque and will climb anything and run reliably for many, many years. I will also include the old plastics if you would like them for no extra cost. This is a 1996 dirt bike so there are some minor scrapes and scuffs and cosmetic imperfections here and there, but nothing very noticeable and nothing that affects the performance of the bike. The gas tank has a few spots on it where the white plastic is slightly yellowed, but some graphics would cover that up if desired. I would just like to be completely honest with potential buyers. Please feel free to come take a look at the bike if you're local in the Western New York area. The Honda XR400R was built with the serious off-road enthusiasts in mind! This 2001 Honda XR400R has been well maintained, starts right up and runs great. There are some scratches from offroad use, but the bike is in overall very nice shape (see detailed pictures). The bike is all stock with the exception of aluminum bars, aluminum skidplate, the XR’s Only Competion Exhaust and a Mikuni Pumper Carburetor ($400 extra!). The Accelerator Pump Carburetor not only makes the XR400R a one-kick start performance-minded machine, but it also eliminates the very noticeable flat spot that exists right off the bottom of the powerband. This is the carburetor that should have been on the XR400R from the factory! These bikes are getting harder and harder to find and this is your chance to pick one up for a great price! Thu, 10 Jul 2014As we expected from previously released design trademark diagrams and certification from the California Air Resources Board, Honda has revealed a new naked version of the the CBR300R dubbed the CB300F. The 2015 Honda CB300F shares the same chassis and 286cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine as the CBR300R. The engine itself is similar to the CBR250R’s powerplant, but with the piston stroke increased to 63mm from 55mm.

Mon, 07 Jul 2014Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes extended his championship lead while a Race Two collision between Aprilia teammates Sylvain Guintoli and Marco Melandri provided drama in the World Superbike Championship round at Portugal’s Portimao track. Sykes qualified on the pole in a sun-draped Superpole session but the clouds rolled in on race day, forcing teams to plan for mixed weather. An overcast sky presided over a dry Race One, leading to a mix of tire choices but all of the racers switched to wet tires for Race Two that saw the scheduled 20-lap length reduced to 18 laps.
Virginia Tech Bolt To Race At NJMP, July 12-13
Mon, 07 Jul 2014The Virginia Tech Bolt e-bike racing team will compete in the July 12-13 zero emissions road race at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville NJ. This race is part of the eMotoRacing series, which runs in conjunction with AHRMA. The 96 volt student-built prototype racebike will compete in the eSuperSport class against a field of production based Brammo Empulses. The Bolt Team is no stranger to competition, as it has previous experience racing in the TTXGP series in 2012.
