Honda CT description

This is a 1970 K0 Candy Ruby Red Trail 70 that has been restored correctly and has a clear CA title.

Frame: CT70-2236649

Engine: CT70E-236316

This one stands out because of the paint, engine work, and attention to detail for a correct restore. It was painted by Mike Hogan of Vintage Honda Painting in Long Beach, CA. The engine was built by Darrel Gunderson of Gunderson Restorations in Las Vegas, NV.  Darrel is the premier Honda minitrail engine builder on the West Coast and Vintage Honda is one of the best places for candy correct paint on vintage bikes.

This started out as a straight and complete California bike. It was all there but in need of restoration. A friend of mine bought it, had it painted and the engine built. He decided to move on to other projects and I took it over. I used all Honda parts with the exception of a few items that are nice to have reproduction.  The seat, handlebars, and rear shocks are CHP.  Everything has been re zinc coated, painted or refinished to match original condition. The only part I did not take a part and rebuild internally is the speedometer.  This speedo is very nice and the overlay colors are very good.  I prefer to leave them original when they are this nice.

I have test ridden this and adjusted the carburetor, clutch, and brakes. It's awesome! Everything works and is in place. It's ready to go. I'll send the title to the winner on full payment with all the parts bags used during assembly.

I know shipping is a concern for many people.  I have a motorcycle shipper that I can put you in contact with.  He has coordinated shipping for me a number of times at reasonable prices.  Some patience on timing is required depending on where you live.  The bikes are shipped complete with a motorcycle transporter and arrive COD. If you are in Tucson or Phoenix, AZ I will deliver it.

Please reply with any questions and I will contact you as soon as possible.  I can share a link to a Google Photo Album with more pictures I took during the build.

Thanks for your interest!

Honda VFR1200F Launch: Tokyo (no) Show

Wed, 21 Oct 2009

IF YOU'VE never been to the Tokyo show before, let me tell you this: you’re missing nowt.‘You picked a bad year to come,’ said the Yamaha designer and he was spot on. Three halls of mainly Japanese car manufacturers and lots of empty spaces wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. Maybe my expectations were too great, maybe I should have been expecting my glass to be half empty?
