    1998 Buell S1 Lightning.  Bought new in 1999 and owned by my family the whole time.  A Buell is a  sportbike with a stroked out 1203 cc Harley Davidson engine.  Dunlop sportmax 2 tires, EBC brake pads, K&N air filter, Vance and Hines exhaust, Barnett easy pull cluth cable, Corbin leather seat (retaining tab broken needs fixed).  My son...had a slow speed corner crash on  it.  I have replaced the damaged parts.  New airbox cover, new carbon fiber wind screen, new head light, new turn signals.  The carbs need cleaned. It will need repainted and has the well known documented air bubble issue on the fuel tank.  This is fixed by painting it with the correct # PPG paint.  I can give you that information.  Has minor tail bodywork damage that would be fixed with the paint job anyways.  The bike is in fine running order just needs a little TLC.  Kelly blue book lists at $2700.  I'm asking a grand less to move it before winter and for you to have it repainted and put few hundred into it to make it yours.  Selling it because as I am getting older (cough cough) I have updated to a cruiser.  Buy it, love it...it will soon be a vintage classic bike. Erik Buell Racing (EBR) has announced it will partner with K&L Supply to enter the #13 EBR 1190 with Cory West in the Sonoma round of the Superbike Shootout series this coming weekend, May 3-4. “EBR is very excited with this new opportunity to run the EBR 1190 in front of the race fans. We had commitments that made it impossible to attend the first Superbike Shootout round in Fontana, but with K&L Supply adding their support we were able to make a rush trip from our test in Louisiana last weekend to the beautiful Sonoma Raceway track in Sonoma, California,” announced Erik Buell, founder of EBR.

Larry Pegram’s EBR 1190RX AMA Race Livery Looks Sharp!

In January news broke that Larry Pegram would be teaming up with Erik Buell Racing to race the 1190RX in AMA Superbike. At the time no official photos were revealed, but that’s all changed as Pegram posted these pictures of his completed 1190RX in full race livery on his Facebook page. These photos were captured during team testing in Florida, and the colors show off the all-American design motif.

When he signed with the team, Eugene Laverty said he would give all he possibly could to bring Suzuki back to the top of the podium once again. Well, it sure didn’t take the Northern Irishman long to accomplish that goal, winning the very first race of the 2014 season at Australia’s Phillip Island course. The win was Laverty’s third in a row, including the final two races of the 2013 season when he raced for Aprilia.

FIM Eases WSBK Homologation Requirements

With the 2014 World Superbike Championship now under way, the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) announced a change in the homologation procedure for new motorcycles entering the series. The new regulations requires a minimum of 125 units produced in order to begin the homologation process. By the end of the first year of participation, manufacturers must have produced 250 units.

Erik Buell Racing is continuing to expand its European presence by appearing at Motodays Fiera Roma, one of Europe’s largest motorcycle trade shows. Held March 6-9 in Rome, Motodays will be an important event for EBR’s plans to establish a European dealer network. EBR opened its first European office last month in the Netherlands, but Motodays will be the European motorcycle show debut of the company and its 1190RX sportbike.

World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.

Eugene Laverty, aboard his Voltcom Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000, led the field today as the first day of World Superbike testing got underway at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia, site of the first race of the 2014 season. Under sunny skies and perfect weather conditions, Laverty adapted quickly to his new ride after spending last season aboard the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. The Suzuki offered incredible feedback and allowed him to push right out of the gates, ultimately setting a fastest lap time of 1:30.513.

FIM Confirms Erik Buell Racing Meets Production Requirements for WSBK Homologation

The International Motorcycling Federation has confirmed that Erik Buell Racing has met the required level of production to meet homologation requirements to compete in the 2014 World Superbike Championship. The news isn’t much of a surprise, considering EBR and racers Geoff May and Aaron Yates were listed on the WSBK provisional entry list released in late January, but the announcement offers the first official confirmation. Charles Hennekam, the FIM’s technical coordinator and motorcycle homologation officer and Gregorio Lavilla, Dorna WSBK sporting director visited EBR‘s factory in East Troy, Wisc., last month to verify the production level on the company’s 1190RX superbike.

2015 Hero Hastur 620cc Streetfighter Concept Revealed – Video

Hero Motocorp has revealed a new 620cc streetfighter concept called the Hastur at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in Greater Noida, near New Delhi. The Hero Hastur concept was developed with the help of Erik Buell Racing which provided its expertise in working with larger engines than Hero’s usual small-displacement motorcycles. The Hastur is powered by a parallel twin 620cc engine claiming 78.9 hp at 8000 rpm and 53.1 ft-lb.

EBR Announces More Than 60 Founding Dealers

The recruitment process began shortly after the American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, Florida, where the company took the wraps off the 1190RX production superbike.
