Buell Lightning description

For sale is a 2004 Buell XB12S in showroom new condition. This Buell is not your standard bike, and is likely the finest example in the country. This bike comes with many RARE factory upgrade accessories, and is the most desired color combination ever offered. If you are familiar with the XB lineup from Buell, or have been in the market for one, you will see this is the one worth waiting for. It has the larger 1203 cubic centimeter motor, and is dressed in the sport trim. This bike has won several shows, and is always the talk of the local bike night especially when its fired up and the V-Twin thumps away. The bike stats are as follows:

- 2004 Buell XB12S
- 12,000 Miles
- Always factory serviced and have records since new
- Just performed full service to include all fluids, primary adjustment, new tires, brakes, and filters
- Factory Buell accessory black translucent air box cover (tank) and windscreen. VERY VERY RARE
- Eric Buell Racing (EBR) race ECM - Dealer installed when new
- 1x1 weave carbon fiber intakes, fender, and wind fairing. This is the real stuff, not cheap knockoff pieces.
- Carbon fiber Jardine slip on exhaust. Powder coated black.
- Tail delete
- Corbin street fighter seat
- Stock seat
- LED turn indicators
- Billet aluminum 3 piece bar end mirrors
- Much more

This bike is truly a future classic, and is already considered a collectors item. Have most stock components to go with the bike where upgrades have been added. The Buell was way ahead of its time with a fuel in frame design, along with dry sump engine with oil in the swing arm to keep weight down low. Along with the incredible power and torque from the biggest V-Twin they offered, this is the most enjoyable bike I have ever owned or ridden. It is also not for beginners, and I will not be offering test rides. There is no other Buell XB12S on the market of this quality to compare this one to. Reason for sale is a job relocation so I am reducing my toy collection.

On Jun-03-16 at 07:03:13 PDT, seller added the following information:

I have been asked by several people about getting the bike home after they purchase. I would not hesitate to ride this bike any distance, and can pick up the winning bidder at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport if you want to fly in and ride home. Please note I will require cash in hand prior to releasing the bike.

Buell Assets Liquidation About to Begin

Mon, 25 Jan 2010

In what is sure to be a painfully long and tortuous process for the former Buell Motorcycle Company (from Eric down to the graveyard shift janitor), the final act of its disassembly will be handled by Grand Rapids, Michigan – based Liquid Asset Partners. In a release from Liquid Assets, the company states the “liquidation sale will start January 28th and run everyday for 30 days until everything is sold. Regardless of cost or loss, millions of dollars worth of equipment and tools will be sold directly on the factory floor.” But don’t think this is just a sell-off of the last few skeletal remains of bikes.

The story behind the 2010 Buell Blast Motorcycle [video]

Wed, 05 Aug 2009

If you haven’t heard, or have seen the new 2010 Buell Blast, you should check it out before viewing the video below. Buell has re-branded itself over the last month or so and have been taking a very close look at themselves.  Not only did they change their logo, but they decided to put to rest a motorcycle that just didn’t fit what they really wanted to be making.  Sport bikes. So the 2010 Buell Blast is a crushed hunk of metal signifying the end of that model.  There will be no Blast in the future so don’t hold your breath!
