I purchased the bike in 2009 from a Delta Airlines pilot who had owned it since new and maintained the bike perfectly. I now own 3 BMW motorcycles and can only ride one at a time, so I am selling this bike. All fluids were replaced two months ago and I just replaced the battery also. The bike has newer tires with less than 2,000 miles of light use. Bike has never been down. The bike's computer acted up 2 years ago and BMW replaced the computer and installed the most current software. The bike pulls hard and has impeccable balance and is effortlessly maneuverable. Possibly the most dependable fun to ride bike that BMW made. It completely gone over by the BMW dealer in Grand Rapids. New battery new Master cyl, tuned up ready to ride. I would not be afraid to take this bike anywhere. I have put 100,000 miles on R65's starting in 1978 and never had a problem. I would not be selling this bike but I am disabled and have to move to a trike. The bike fell down at a gas station and the odometer broke. So, the mileage has to be listed as unknown It read 27,000 miles at that time and has not been used much since. delivery is on you but if you live in Michigan I will bring it to you for free, probably drive it if I can. I honestly think this is the best open bike ever made and is just plain fun to drive.

1983 BMW 800cc air head built to shred the mountain roads, it's tuned perfect, the carbs have been rejeted for the header. It started life as a R/80rt & had a full fairing so a lot of weigh has been removed, it's less than 400lbs now and has a great power to weight ratio and real good balance due to the low center of gravity with it's boxer engine and with it's dual Brembo brakes it stops on a dime. Everything has been replaced all wearable rubber boots, seals, bearings, even the rubber trim rings on the tach & speedo, neck bearings, fork seals, new customs shocks, 2in1 exhaust header, new over sized tires and lots of little extras..
