BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
European model ( Long wheelbase ) has spent early years in the Netherlands and Portugal . I have the foreign plates and documentation. also I have the import papers. The bike is stock & original repainted once in the original Algerian blue. " clear stateside title. This is a rare model and color
Owned for 33 years .by one person Who kept it in a heated garage. The bike has very little corrosion and the paint is in good shape. It is a not cconcours,, so you can actually ride it" there are minor imperfections in the paint.. I do not have the key for the seat and fork locks. Both. Center stand. & kickstand The seat is almost perfect . And believed to be original I purchase the bike in March of this year and did a thorough cleaning on it. It has never been dropped nor does it have any Bondo on the tank or fenders. I planned on keeping this one , as I have had up to seven of these bikes at any given time. ..""... but Health concerns are keeping me from riding " The numbers are matching 2996984 It is a good set of Metzlers with full tread This is his last year for electrical and kickstart It has the headlight guard"....... and a Chrome side rack for mounting luggage . The battery is New and tray is clean and it was repainted. Everything under the tank is clean and fresh The exhaust is in good shape but. mostly original pipes Mechanically it is in sound shape and runs like a BMW should. May need to have the Idle adjusted if taken to lower altitude. It is currently in New Mexico. At Almost 7000 ' above sea level . |

BMW Helps Vertically Challenged
Tue, 02 Dec 2008No matter where they go or what they do, it seems that people who are vertically challenged always get the ‘short’ end of the stick, pardon the pun. Historically, if a pint-sized person wanted to get into the hobby of motorcycling, their choices were limited to bikes like the Suzuki Marauder, Ninja 250 or HD Sportster (the thought alone makes my back hurt.) BMW Motorrad now has good news for riders who either need or simply prefer a lower seat height, but do not want to compromise on model choice. BMW is the first motorcycle manufacturer to launch a range of models that can be ordered from the factory with lowered suspension – to provide customers with low seat height options.
