MULE Motorcycles Yamaha XS 650 Flat Tracker (1978)
We have a beautiful Yamaha XS 650 Flat Tracker built by Mule Motorcycles, this bike was featured in the March 2007 issue of Iron Horse Magazine. This bike features a late 70's xs650 frame that was modified to accept a C&J head tube, a new down tube was fabricated with all chromoly tubing with all of the new engine mount bolts being grade 8 steel. The front end consists of custom clamps holding Showa adjustable dampening forks from a Buell X-1 Lightning attached to stainless handlebars from Woods racing and a headlight assembly from a Harley Sportster. The motor was completed disassembled and rebuilt, case were powdercoated with the top end being bead blasted. Mule Motorcycles used a Shell big bore 750 "street kit" along with all new gaskets and seals, new brass oil screens and finshed it off with new Barnett clutch springs. 34mm Mikuni carbs were used to get the fuel to the engine with K&N air filters to keep all of the dirt elements out of the motor while using a modified Triumph Speed Triple slipon exhaust system. This tricked out motorcycle also sports an all aluminum gas tank made by Racetec with a special flush mounted cap which was painted by Uptown Cycle Designs and the seat was fabricated by First Class Glass.2013-10-20 00:02:13Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, US4007,500.00

This is a very nice bike, in great shape, starts easy, first or second kick has electric start as well but will need repair, I just use the kick start. 1980 Yamaha XS (1980)
This is a Yamaha XS 650 special which has been lightly customized with low bars, bar end mirrors, fork boots, Harley style mufflers, and a unique seat cowl. The bike has a clear PA title signed by the previous owner. I noticed that while the mileage on the title states 28000 the mileage on the speedometer is 23500. The bike started easily on fresh gas and idled and accelerated smoothly on a 10 mile test drive. I did not exceed 65 mph as the tires are dry and have sidewall cracks, but the bike seemed to have plenty more speed on tap. All gears shifted well and all lights and instruments work. The mufflers are not as loud as they look and bike has a deep mellow tone. The engine does not make any unusual noises. The brakes felt a little spongy and probably need some attention. There is a dent in the tachometer housing (see picture.) There is a deep scratch on the top of the front fender but is is hard to see (see picture.) There are small tears at the front lower corners of the seat cover that have been sewn up (see picture.)2016-11-02 04:41:00Severna Park, Maryland, United States231,800.00

1978 Yamaha XS (1978)
This is a custom 1978 Yamaha XS650. The bike started out as a stock bike in great shape and was taken apart, chopped and a TC Brothers hard tail was installed. The frame, motor, and sheet metal is all done in metallic blue powder coat. The rims were blasted and powder coated black then new bearings were installed and Firestone Deluxe tires. The electrical system was updated with a new regulator rectifier which was mounted in a fake oil tank with a sealed battery and all other electrical parts. All wiring is made of modern cloth coated wire which has silicon heat shielding and was hidden in copper pipe. The exhaust was custom made with solid brass tips which match the grips and pegs. All starter parts were removed from the motor in an effort to reduce weight and the bike is kick start only. The forks and triple trees were shaved and polished as were the brake calipers. The rear master cylinder is made of glass, brass and billet aluminum and the gas cap is also made of brass. The seat is custom hand tooled leather. Lots of custom parts on this bike. I made the bike in 2012 so it has four year of wear on it, see pictures. The battery was just replaced in the bike. Sold as is and buyer is responsible for pickup. $200 deposit due via PayPal within 48 hours of winning bid and remaining balance due via certified check or money order within 7 days of purchase.2016-11-14 04:45:55San Benito, Texas, United States162200

1980 Yamaha XS (1980)
This Yamaha XS 1100 was really great bike when I bought it, but it's been sitting neglected in my garage. It will need a new battery and the carbs sunk plus anything else that a bike that sits idle will need.I have 5 motorcycles and I know I will never get around to getting the three that are not running back on the road. Every spring I tell myself I'm going to get this bike running. And then I spend the summer riding my two bikes that do run. This Yamaha is basically all stock except for the ape hangers I put on several years ago. And the big dent in the side of the tank-- I added that, too.I have the clean California title ready to sign over. If you're a motorcycle mechanic, this could be a great bike for you. Everything is all there. The bike is complete. If you are not a mechanic, this is probably not the bike for you.If you have any questions please post them on here. 2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Review – First Ride
Wed, 28 Aug 2024Better suspension and Track mode brings us so close to an R9 Photos by Dave Schelske As the tail rider in a train of approximately seven identical Yamahas, I couldn’t help but watch in awe as each of us weaved our way through the notorious Tail of the Dragon, bending the bike underneath us to our will through the 120-something corners, the unison of the dance mesmerizing as each of us took our turn, one by one, around each apex, at irresponsible speeds, front wheels inches away from the person in front of us. This is the kind of trust you build up after you’ve ridden with the same group of people for years on end. We all know that riding with your friends is fun.

2024 Yamaha MT-09 Review – First Ride
Tue, 14 May 2024More minor changes in anticipation of the R9 Photos by Joseph Agustine. There really wasn’t a reason to update Yamaha’s MT-09. We love the MT-09, and apparently you do too – it’s been Yamaha’s best-selling MT model for a decade.
2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 First Ride
Wed, 13 Dec 2023Small updates keep the T7 fresh, but we're still missing out on the European variants Photos by Yamaha/Joseph Agustin Photo Yamaha’s popular Ténéré 700 “T7” adventure bike returns for 2024, and while it would be easy to say it is “largely unchanged” from the 2023 model, there have been some notable changes made in response to feedback from many North American riders. One wish still unrealized: the U.S. dealers won’t be getting the up-spec World Raid and numerous other versions of the T7 the EU enjoys - at least not this year.

2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review
Thu, 17 Aug 2023Riding 950 miles across three states in two days highlights this Tracer’s capabilities Photography by Joseph Augustin New motorcycle model introductions follow a well-worn path: travel to the event location, eat nice meals, get briefed on the bike of the moment, ride a route designed to highlight the bike’s strengths, take photos/video, eat more good food, return home, and write up a review. After 27 years in this industry, I still get a cheap thrill about throwing a leg over a new motorcycle before it is available to the general public. However, what really gets me going is when I have a chance to log more than just the couple of hundred miles typically covered in an intro and spend some real time on the road with said bike.
2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review – First Ride
Thu, 18 May 2023Yamaha’s sports tourer middleweight receives an influx of technology for 2023 Astute readers are probably wondering why Motorcycle.com is publishing a First Ride of a bike that’s not coming to the States this model year. Our reasoning is that, thanks to the sleuthing of Dennis Chung, we suspect the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ will be coming to the U.S. in 2024.
Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Finally Coming to US for 2024
Thu, 06 Apr 2023Sport-tourer equipped with radar-based adaptive cruise control Last November, Yamaha Motor Europe revealed a new Tracer 9 GT+ at EICMA, a new version of its Triple-powered sport tourer equipped with a 7-inch TFT display, adaptive cruise control, and a radar-linked unified braking system. Yamaha Motor USA, however, remained quiet about it, and we later learned the Tracer 9 GT+ was not coming to the States for 2023. In fact, even the less techy regular Tracer 9 was left out of Yamaha Motor USA’s returning model announcements.
Yamaha MT-10 SP Project Bike - Update 1
Thu, 26 Jan 2023Everythings installed and initial impressions. It’s been about a month since we introduced Motorcycle.com’s 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP semi-long-term project bike. In case you forgot the premise of this whole thing, Yamaha offered us the opportunity to hang on to an MT-10 SP for an extended period of time, and since I have a soft spot for the bike, I decided to give it some tasteful upgrades to address some key weaknesses while also unleashing some trapped potential.
