Here is a nice original bike, runs good, shifts good, everything works as it should, has owners manual but no tool kit, clear title, the only thing not original is the grips, and it has a new seat, the tank is original paint and has 2 dings on the right side ( see pics) and a little fade on the top of the tank, but still looks nice, the side covers and tail fin look nice, but looks like they were repainted at one time but still look good and match very well.chrome is nice but not perfect, there is some chrome peeling on the handle bars, original pipes are nice, just one rust spot on the left lower pipe, (see pic) the rest of the pipes are solid and look very nicetires are newer and nice, ready to ride or show, hard to find a unrestored z1 in this condition.2016-11-30 04:35:58Bath, Michigan, United States255900 -

You are bidding on a 1993 Kawasaki ZR1100 Zephyr. This bike is air-cooled, with a transverse inline, dual-overhead-cam four cylinder engine. It has two spark plugs per cylinder. The bike has approximately 13000 miles (non verifiable, since it is missing the gauges, see pictures) and runs well. The engine feels and sounds very healthy (check the link for the video). The rear shocks have been upgraded. The gas tank is banged up, the front fender cracked and scuffed; the front brake lever is bent and the front brake reservoir is missing its metal lid. I purchased this motorcycle in July 2009 and immediately started restoring it with many NOS parts. I’m an engineer by training and performed the majority of the work myself with the exception of some specialist services. The restoration was completed in October 2010 I've only put a handful of miles on the clock since the restoration due to a new family addition and work demands. Everything works as it should with the exception of a carburation issue - the engine idles extremely well, but hesitates in the midrange. Its something I just haven't had time to fix. The motorcycle was fully stripped-down and the following work was performed: Engine: Engine number: H2E 46186 New crankshaft - it was in its original kawasaki box and wrapper Barrels re-bored, honed and correctly chamfered (standard port timing) +0.5mm pistons fitted. New small end bearings Barrels and heads glass beaded. Crankcases cleaned using a lot of elbow grease (no bead blasting). Here is a very nice low mileage bike that I picked up some time ago. When I purchased the bike it needed a little bit of attention so here is what I've done to it: It has a new seat, new rear grab bar, and had a professional paint job put on it that is fantastic- looks awesome! It has complete airbox system and owner's manual. I replaced the header with a set of very nice stock exhaust from a '79 KZ 1000, they look great on the bike. The bike runs GREAT, all electrical functions are working properly, good brakes and tires. The pictures don't due this bike justice, it is absolutely beautiful! This will be a great bike for someone who has the skill and time to fix it up. This is a PROJECT bike, and is NOT RUNNING. It has been in the garage for years and needs significant work including carb rebuild, fuel tank clean and seal, brake master cyl rebuild, tires, battery (currently has no battery), and probably more. It is in serious need of a paint job. The bike was running great before I let it sit in the garage for several years. I tried to get it going again in 2007 but it wasn't running right, probably due to me changing the stock air box for custom air cleaners (see pictures). I took it into the shop and they changed the carb jets, but it still was not right. I rode it some, but then parked it in the garage again until this summer. But unlike the current parallel-twin Ninja 400, which is essentially a budget bike dressed in sportbike clothes, this newest model is worthy of the ZX prefix, as it boasts proper suspension, twin radial brakes, a full electronics suite, and chassis geometry inspired by its ZX-6R and ZX-10R siblings – oh, and let’s not forget – a compact four-banger that will rev to over 15,000 rpm!
