    I am selling my 1975 Honda CB 500 T.  I have too many bikes to ride but letting go of this one is especially hard.  This bike is not a restoration; it is a survivor that sat covered inside for decades. It was bought from an estate sale with less than 300 miles, then brought back to life; new oil, gas, carbs rebuilt, battery and lubrication.  It is in exceptionally well preserved condition and has 1388 miles, of which I have driven over 900. I was in the process of restoring another 500 T when I located this bike.  I put a newly painted tank and side covers on this bike but still have the originals.  Everything works on this bike.  It still feels tight and new.  There are no leaks, it starts easily with either the electric or kick starter, it doesn't smoke, it runs and idles smoothly.  I had the clutch replaced just from age.  This Honda drives like it was from the dealership in 1975. The seat is like new, the tires are original and in great shape.  There is some pitting on the chrome from age but still very good and solid.

We even cut down the fenders into a more bobby, "cafe" aesthetic.Brand new charging system working in tip-top condition.  Thats a new battery, new rotor, new alternator, new stator, spark plugs redone, and also all wires/fuses completely redone. Aftermarket Headlight/tailight/turn signals/hazards all "cafe racer" style.  All new bulbs recently placed.Currently has an aftermarket speedometer in the photos, but can provide the original OEM speedometer/odometer combo.

     This is an older custom job on a 1975 750.  I bought this a short time ago because of the uniqueness of the bike.  This was customized about 30 years ago.  The gentleman that customized and owned it, recently passed away.  I purchased it from his family.  I was going to restore it, exactly the way it is but I'm just too busy and I won't have time for this one for quite awhile.  I'll describe the bike the best that I can.  It is an older restoration.  The paint looks to be lacquer and the tank is beginning to crack.  The tank shows some light scuffs and a couple of small dings.  No major dents.   The side cover have chips and cracks.  The engine runs fine.  The bike shows 20,000 plus miles.   The starter button has been moved to a push button on the tree, opposite the key ignition.  The chrome valve cover is in very good condition as is almost all of the chrome.  The air box was replaced with velocity stacks.  The headers are 4 into one but a little faded and with a dent or two.  I found a baffle for the muffler, which quiets it down considerably.  The clutch engages firmly.  Both tires are newer.   It has rear turn signals but removed from the front.

MOTOGROTTO...THE VINTAGE AND CAFE MOTORCYCLE SHOP.SPECIALIZING IN PEACE OF MIND AND PURE MOTORCYCLING SATISFACTION EASTON PA 18040.610-749-0747 1975 HONDA CB750 in Flake Apricot Red 7270 miles Original Survivor.A friend of mine recently acquired this machine from the original owner a few years ago.It includes copies of the original invoice for the bike which sold for $2180+109.43 sales tax at Montgomery cycle in 1975.The bike has had the carbs serviced and starts right up idles nicely and runs very well.The tires maybe original and must be replaced as they have flat spots on them from sitting with low pressure for some time in the same spot.They hold air enough to roll the bike onto a shipper however.There is some patina on the bike's brightwork but there are few if any dings.There is a small ding in the tank on the left side too small to photograph.The front brake caliper leaks and needs a new seal.I may not get to this by the time the auction ends so you may have to.The seal is $16.The brake light is stuck on probably the brake light sensor.There are no cracks in the plastic sidecovers.The bike has the ignition switch relocation kit mounted on the handlebar so you don't grab a handful of hot header pipe where it was mounted close to from the factory.The exhaust is in nice shape and has the factory stamping.This bike is very much original and a great vintage ride with plenty of power and a brand new battery.YouTube video coming soon.There is no rust inside the gas tank.It is cherry.The headlight and turn signals work as well as the speedometer odometer and tachometer.The neutral light in the dash does not work,a bulb perhaps.Kick starter works.The photos and the video tell the story.

    1975 Honda CB400f Super Sport This bike is in running condition.  It has been in storage for over 5 years so tires show some dry rot as you would expect.  Bike also has minor dings and cosmetic issues as shown in pictures. Overall, this bike appears to be in very good condition for it's age.  New battery was installed.  Fuel was drained and flushed and fresh gas added w/ sea foam.  The more it runs the better it gets.  It starts very easily and idles well.  It has a slight hesitation in throttle response when throttled quickly but does pick up.  This would be a great restoration project or with a tune up and tires could be ridden as is.     Selling this bike for a friend who collects and/or restores bikes like these.  This is a beautiful bike that could nearly be called a 'survivor'.   It has 2579 original miles on it.  The motor starts and runs perfectly, it is super smooth!  It has new tires, Gold O-ring chain, NOS low bars, replica seat cover (original seat cover was not torn, but indented by something being stored on it too long) and a  Lithium battery.  This bike has not been restored.  It has had some re-chroming work done.  The complete exhaust (except muffler), the front fender and braces and license plate and tail light bracket were re-chromed.  The carb and the front brake caliper have been rebuilt.  As mentioned under vehicle condition, there are some minor flaws.  Take note of the fabricated bracket under the headlight and the spot on the front of the gauges.  I was hard to show the flaws in the tank because they are quite minimal.  Review all the pictures carefully and feel free to contact me with any and all questions.

By John Burns 1990 Honda ST1100 begat 2003 Honda ST1300, which begat 2014 Honda CTX1300… which at some point in the last few years seems to have gone, mercifully, the way of all flesh. Now if it’s a Honda sport tourer you crave, it’s the Gold Wing or, well, that’s about it. Anyway, the big 1261cc V-four ST1300 was quite the long-distance mile muncher 20 years ago.
