What’s the deal with all those Pink Motorcycles?

Picture a Motorcycle in your mind, any Motorcycle. It could be one you own, want to own, one you’ve seen. Can you picture it?  What Brand is it?  What Model, year, how fast does it go?  You can probably picture each of these elements vividly.

Honda’s New Documentary: Dreams vs Nightmares [trailer]

Honda have been releasing video documentaries on… well… everything!  Why?  Well to toot their own horn and remind you that Honda is crazy cool. Actually, their videos aren’t that bad, although somewhat dramatic.  I hunkered down and watched their “Failure: The Secret to Success” video and it held my attention. Their new video is titled “Dreams vs Nightmares”, which features a few notable people such as Clive Barker and Deepak Chopra.  I’m curious to see how they take this theme and use it to show how and why Honda creates and designs the products they make.

Since it’s inception Motorcycle.com Specs has been the best place for bikers and enthusiasts (like you) to voice their opinions; there has been a lot to spout-off about too! Over 528 Motorcycle models have been updated for you to review in 2009 alone. It’s great to see what the Motorcycle Community has to say about the bikes they ride.

Postie Bike Challenge [video]

The Postie Bike Challenge started in 2002 as a one-off event in Brisbane, Australia to prove that small bikes can travel long distances over both asphalt, dirt, sand, or stony surfaces has turned into a 10-day charity event.  The entry fee is $4,000 but almost everything is taken care of, including: Late model Honda CT110 Postie bike (registered to you!) All breakfasts, lunches and dinners All fuel for the trip One way air ticket back to Brisbane Support truck to carry equipment, clothing bag and mechanics Final celebration dinner and hotel accommodation That’s right, you can keep the Honda CT110 Postie bike (designed for commercial and agricultural, also used by Australia Post) but the concept is to give the bike to charity in your name after the event is over, its up to you but more than 90% of the participants do give the bike back. The 2009 Postie Bike Challenge will take place from October 3rd to the 13th and will go from Brisbane to Melbourne, the destination changes every year.  The route taken will be about 2,000 miles (the direct route is about 1,000 miles).  If your interested, get your entry form and deposit in ASAP, last years event was sold out.

Helmet Law Upheld in Ontario

A Sikh in Ontario, Canada, has lost his challenge to the $110 ticket he received back in September 2005 for not wearing a helmet while riding his Honda Shadow.  Baljinder Badesha, 39, claims the Ontario helmet law is “100 per cent” discrimination no matter what the safety issues are when riding without a helmet. We cannot put anything over the turban, it is against our religion.  Mr. Badesha said outside court.

For all you gearheads out there, Honda has opened a new Motorcycle Technology Picturebook site, an easy to understand guide to Honda’s advanced motorcycle technologies.  You can find anything from the engine idling stop system to Honda’s new automatic transmission system for motorcycles or the HFT (Human-Friendly Transmission) pictured above. Does your 2010 Honda Fury have Sloppy Welds?

The 2010 Honda Fury Chopper has been out for a few weeks now and people have been buying them up all across North America.  A local Honda dealer revealed to us that he only received 4 choppers from Honda and sold them before they even arrived at his shop. The Fury is at a great price for those who want a stylish chopper look, but are you sacrificing quality for a bargain chopper?  Do sloppy welds break your heart or can you tough it out and live with them knowing you got a unique looking bike at an affordable price? Mac Motorcycles

British motorcycle design studio Xenophya Design and product designer Ellis Pitt have teamed up to produce a new company, Mac Motorcycles. Based out of Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire, England, Mac Motorcycles will produce a line of bikes powered by Buell’s air-cooled single cylinder 492cc engines used in the Blast, with a tubular backbone frame. On the company’s website, Pitt describes its bikes as being simple to maintain, include references and details from choppers and bobbers and feature “Harley posture, flat-track manners, Ducati handling”.

New Honda Fury TV Spot is Scary [Video]

Ok, it’s not THAT new… Somehow it slipped passed me back in April.  I guess I was too busy watching people do wheelies on scooters. The new 2010 Honda Fury TV spot has a lot of quick edits of intense scenes including a shark jumping up at your face and various animals and people screaming at you.  Let’s not forget the dude getting punched in the face and people getting blown around by a tornado. Ya, it’s INTENSE and kind of scary.  You don’t see too much of the bike except for it standing stationary near the end.
