1978 Honda CB (1978)
Last year for the single overhead cam series(SOHC) .....all totally unmolested, unrestored and original.....the black F series had more performance than previous models with larger valve set at improved angle and a racier cam for better breathing.............5 speed trans and triple disc brakes. this bike was traded in at a Honda dealer in Saskatchewan Canada in the mid 80's and it sat on a display shelf untill the early nineties when I purchased it and since then has sat in heated storage.Before it went on display the gas tank and carbs were drained and some oil poured into each cylinder.A couple of times a year the engine was kicked over several times to keep an oil film on the cylinder walls but it has not been started .You would be responsible to get it up and running if that was your desire. This CB750F was actually built in the 4th month of 1978 so is one of the last ones of the SOHC series as I believe the next month or two,early production of the Twin Cam or DOHC 1979 model series started.(totally different engine) It has the original owners manual and tool kit under the seat.

This CB was properly stored by the original owner with engine fogging and the proper tank/carb storage preparation before his death. I replaced the engine oil, filled with fresh gas, and put in new NGKs, and the Honda started right up with no leaks.

Overall condition is very good - mufflers have the tell-tale rust holes in the bottom. Bike does not currently run but the motor does turn over. Inside of the tank is pretty clean, but I'm sure the carbs will need going through. Will need brake work as well as a battery. I purchased this CB350 "Flying Dragon" design tank and sidecovers new in the box from a collector in Japan. The Psychedlic paint design was produced by the Honda Factory in Japan as a add on accessory for the USA market to help move slow moving bike inventory in 1972 and 1973 only. Before I discovered this particular set it was thought that the "Dragon" sets were only made for the Honda Scrambler CL350 and CL450 models.

Engine had low compression but did turn over. Tires were rotted and brakes were seized, you get the idea. The following is a long list of what was done to bring it back to life.1. American Honda has yet to announced whether it would offer the CBR300R, but with today’s announcement of the NM4 and PCX150, we expect the CBR250R replacement will also be coming a a 2015 model. James Stewart captured his series-leading fourth AMA Supercross 450 class win of the season, giving him sole possession of second place on the overall career wins list ahead of Ricky Carmichael and behind Jeremy McGrath. The win also helped Stewart gain some ground on points leader Ryan Villopoto who suffered from a bout of food poisoning. Villopoto was examined at a Toronto hospital and released in time for the opening ceremonies.

Honda NM4 Vultus Concept Revealed

Honda revealed a new concept model called the NM4 Vultus, a futuristic-looking 745cc motorcycle with a massive front fairing. Despite the fact it looks like a mockup made for a movie like the Kawasaki-based bike in the recent Robocop reboot, Honda says the NM4 is indeed planned for production. The NM4 was designed by a team of young engineers in their 20s and early 30s, and that’s demographic Honda wants to target with its new concept.

MotoGP to Standardize ECU Software in 2016 Season

MotoGP‘s Grand Prix Commission announced the series will adopt a standardized Engine Control Unit hardware and software programming for all entries starting with the 2016 season. At the moment, all teams are required to use a standard ECU hardware supplied by Magneti Marelli. Teams competing under the Factory option are allowed to use their own proprietary software programming while Open option participants must use standardized software.
