Paris Hilton Talks About Her Race Team on Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Tue, 31 May 2011Reality show star, socialite and racing team owner Paris Hilton made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last week to promote some of her projects including her 125cc Grand Prix Blusens by Paris Hilton Racing Team. Hilton arrived on the Tonight Show set riding pillion on a GSX-R painted white, pink and blue. The celebutante’s appearance comes on the (pink) heels of racer Maverick Viñales winning his first 125cc GP race at Le Mans.

Norbert Schickel Headed to Hall of Fame
Fri, 27 May 2011American motorcycle pioneer Norbert Schickel has been named to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame’s 2011 class. Schickel founded Schickel Motor Co., in Stamford, Conn., in 1912, a year after exhibiting his first “two-cycle” motorcycle at the Chicago Motorcycle Show. Schickel Motor sold more than 1,000 motorcycles between 1912 and 1924 when the company filed for bankruptcy.
Charity Ride Benefiting Peruvian Orphans

The June 12 charity ride is in support for Wellspring International Outreach, a charitable organization Bayly founded with retired educator Maria Fitzgerald in 2008. Wellspring International Outreach raises funds for the Hogar Belen Orphanage in Moquegua, Peru.

Best known for its off-road models, Husqvarna seems to be taking a page from parent company BMW in teasing its new on-road model, first by releasing details about the engine, and now with these sketches. The drawings reveal a naked road bike with a supermoto influence not too far from Husqvarna’s usual style.
Ride to Work Day 2011
Thu, 26 May 2011The 20th annual Ride to Work Day is less than a month away and organizers say this year’s event will be the largest ever. This year’s Ride to Work Day will take place June 20, with 13 countries around the world taking part. Originally proposed by an editorial by Fred Rau in Road Rider magazine (now known as Motorcycle Consumer News), the Ride to Work Day campaign advocates the use of motorcycles and scooters as an everyday option for commuters.
Lawmakers Support Anti-Checkpoint Bill

The letter was sent May 25 to the U.S. House Committee on Transport and Infrastructure and the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit urging support for H.R.

As the nine-time World Champion logs his laps on the GP12 at Italy’s Mugello circuit today, the bigger news is the other Ducati racebike sharing the track with the Doctor. According to GPOne.com, Ducati is also testing its new 1200cc Superbike, the successor to the 1198R.

Florida to Alaska and Back on a Honda CBR125R
Tue, 24 May 2011A 65-year-old man from Windsor, Ontario, Canada is attempting a cross-continent ride from Key West, Fla., to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska and back, on a Honda CBR125R. Bob Munden of Windsor is attempting to set the record for the smallest motorcycle to make the trip from the southernmost accessible point in North America to the northernmost point, and back. A print shop owner with a stable of five motorcycles, Munden will attempt the trip on the 124.7cc single-cylinder four-stroke Honda CBR125R, an entry-level sportbike model Honda offers in Canada.

Triumph Motorcycles Produces 500,000th in John Bloor Hinckley Era

But on this day we put the Wing to a completely different test: the Tail of the Dragon, US 129 in North Carolina.
