Return to sender Well the seat was a little high, at 34.6 inches, but that didn’t stop the Yamaha Ténéré 700 from doing very well in last summer’s blockbuster middleweight ADV comparison. Keeping it simple and keeping the weight down was a great recipe for success, and now Yamaha is fixin’ to take it to the next level with a Ténéré 700 Raid, for which this machine it showed at EICMA serves as prototype. Yamaha Acquires Stake in KYB’s Motorcycle Suspension Business

KYB is separating its motorcycle suspension business from its other operations, and forming a new company with Yamaha. The two companies will form a joint venture to be known as KYB Motorcycle Suspension Co., Ltd., offering motorcycle suspension components to OEMs including Yamaha. Yamaha will acquire a 33.4% stake in KYB Motorcycle Suspension Co.

Back in September, Yamaha revealed a special “Race Blu” livery for a the YZF-R1, YZF-R6 and the YZF-R125 for the European market. Yamaha promoted the new color scheme with Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies sporting the colors on their leathers and M1 race bikes at the Misano and Aragon MotoGP rounds. North American consumers were left out, however, getting a Team Yamaha Blue and White version instead for the R1 and R6 (the R125 isn’t offered here either).
