1979 Yamaha SR500r – Incredible Original Condition Current California registration with original blue and yellow license plate. 3560 original miles. The bike has always been stored indoors and is in impeccable condition. As you can see from the photos, the bike is like new and is in no way ‘tidied up’ for sale. There is no rust, dents or other damage hidden. All decals, paint and seat are in perfect condition. The bike starts on the first kick (once you get the hang of starting an SR) and runs like a top. New tires, new MotoBatt sealed battery and the rubber seal on the gas tank is the only work I have done after purchasing the bike from a friend last year. A set of brake pads, full carb rebuild kit and other parts will be included in the sale. A full set of related documents will come with the bike including original sale brochure, owner’s manual and a Clymer service manual plus a second original Yamaha key. This may well be the very best original example of an SR500r out there and it is ready to placed in any showroom worldwide. Hope you like it and good luck!!!2016-07-30 04:50:17San Rafael, California, United States312000

For auction a 1979 Yamaha RD400F-Dayton Special, 400cc two stroke twin, the first and only year the Daytona Special was produced for the U.S.,“The King of the two strokes.” I bought the bike 21 years ago. It is box stock with a few exceptions: Expansion chambers by a previous owner; the kick stand was extended to fit under the pipes; the seat has been reupholstered (and is much more comfortable than the original); the horn needs a new switch: Engine: The bike was thoroughly serviced in September (New plugs, points and condenser; carbs and oil pump sync’ed, carbs cleaned,) and it starts first kick. It pulls and revs hard on the power band and that beautiful two stroke purr when idling. It dyno’ed at 48 HP (Stock is 40HP) . The battery was replaced two years ago. The engine has not been ported or polished. No mods what so ever, save the chambers. Body: The bike is in excellent original condition and the paint looks terrific.2016-06-20 04:51:26Littleton, Colorado, United States1112000

1979 Yamaha IT 400 - Vintage Enduro *** Very Rare*** (1979)
Hi, I am selling my 1979 Yamaha IT 400. I bought this bike to race vintage class, but as my 7 and 5 year old children are getting into riding I have no time to race and find myself coaching most of the time (loving every minute of it too). This bike is mechanically in excellent shape and actually starts easier than my 2007 kx250. I am not going to lie, it could use some TLC in the cosmetic department and that was next on my to do list. However, I am selling this bike so I can get my daughter a new bike. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will ship the bike in the US. I have never shipped a motorcycle so I am going to make the buyer responsible for all the details but I will be happy to help in any way with shipping it. I hope a collector or a vintage racer will pick this bike up as it is in great shape for its age!2013-10-22 00:42:37Riverside, Illinois, US1,000750.00

1979 Yamaha 125 Enduro Very Sharp!! (1979)
I bought this bike from a friend who never drove it in the few years he owned it. It's probably been driven 10 miles in the last 5+ years. I put a new spark plug in it and fresh gas, started on the first kick. This bike was owned by a Yamaha mechanic for many years and extremely well kept. Everything works, blinkers, horn, lights etc. Bike is street legal and I have title in hand. Needs carb cleaned or rebuilt, I may do that before auction ends if I have time. It's for sale locally and would trade for ATV with snow plow. Has around 4,500 miles in it. Tires are like new.2013-10-14 00:06:52Cedar Falls, Iowa, US4,500850.00

2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Review – First Ride
Wed, 28 Aug 2024Better suspension and Track mode brings us so close to an R9 Photos by Dave Schelske As the tail rider in a train of approximately seven identical Yamahas, I couldn’t help but watch in awe as each of us weaved our way through the notorious Tail of the Dragon, bending the bike underneath us to our will through the 120-something corners, the unison of the dance mesmerizing as each of us took our turn, one by one, around each apex, at irresponsible speeds, front wheels inches away from the person in front of us. This is the kind of trust you build up after you’ve ridden with the same group of people for years on end. We all know that riding with your friends is fun.

Tue, 14 May 2024More minor changes in anticipation of the R9 Photos by Joseph Agustine. There really wasn’t a reason to update Yamaha’s MT-09. We love the MT-09, and apparently you do too – it’s been Yamaha’s best-selling MT model for a decade.
2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 First Ride
Wed, 13 Dec 2023Small updates keep the T7 fresh, but we're still missing out on the European variants Photos by Yamaha/Joseph Agustin Photo Yamaha’s popular Ténéré 700 “T7” adventure bike returns for 2024, and while it would be easy to say it is “largely unchanged” from the 2023 model, there have been some notable changes made in response to feedback from many North American riders. One wish still unrealized: the U.S. dealers won’t be getting the up-spec World Raid and numerous other versions of the T7 the EU enjoys - at least not this year.

2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review
Thu, 17 Aug 2023Riding 950 miles across three states in two days highlights this Tracer’s capabilities Photography by Joseph Augustin New motorcycle model introductions follow a well-worn path: travel to the event location, eat nice meals, get briefed on the bike of the moment, ride a route designed to highlight the bike’s strengths, take photos/video, eat more good food, return home, and write up a review. After 27 years in this industry, I still get a cheap thrill about throwing a leg over a new motorcycle before it is available to the general public. However, what really gets me going is when I have a chance to log more than just the couple of hundred miles typically covered in an intro and spend some real time on the road with said bike.
2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review – First Ride
Thu, 18 May 2023Yamaha’s sports tourer middleweight receives an influx of technology for 2023 Astute readers are probably wondering why Motorcycle.com is publishing a First Ride of a bike that’s not coming to the States this model year. Our reasoning is that, thanks to the sleuthing of Dennis Chung, we suspect the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ will be coming to the U.S. in 2024.
Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Finally Coming to US for 2024
Thu, 06 Apr 2023Sport-tourer equipped with radar-based adaptive cruise control Last November, Yamaha Motor Europe revealed a new Tracer 9 GT+ at EICMA, a new version of its Triple-powered sport tourer equipped with a 7-inch TFT display, adaptive cruise control, and a radar-linked unified braking system. Yamaha Motor USA, however, remained quiet about it, and we later learned the Tracer 9 GT+ was not coming to the States for 2023. In fact, even the less techy regular Tracer 9 was left out of Yamaha Motor USA’s returning model announcements.
Yamaha MT-10 SP Project Bike - Update 1
Thu, 26 Jan 2023Everythings installed and initial impressions. It’s been about a month since we introduced Motorcycle.com’s 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP semi-long-term project bike. In case you forgot the premise of this whole thing, Yamaha offered us the opportunity to hang on to an MT-10 SP for an extended period of time, and since I have a soft spot for the bike, I decided to give it some tasteful upgrades to address some key weaknesses while also unleashing some trapped potential.
