David Stanton Charity Trackday Raises $75,000

The generosity of the motorcycling community shone brightly on Monday, as riders, fans, friends and enthusiasts took part in a charity track day at Sonoma Raceway hosted by 3J’s Motorcycle Track Days, raising $75,000. The charity track day was to benefit David Stanton, a Bay Area resident and long-time American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) competitor, who was paralyzed after a racing crash in June. In all, more than 400 people participated in the track day, attended the evening reception or stopped by to give Stanton their best wishes.

Yamaha has re-launched its popular Super Sport Virtual Bike Show for owners of all Yamaha sport bikes to showcase their creativity to all on Yamaha’s website. Entries may be submitted from now until Dec 31, 2014 by going to http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/supersportvbs/show.aspx and all Yamaha sport bikes are eligible. Each month, a “Bike of the Month” will be selected out of all the entries submitted and the winners of this award will receive their choice of Yamaha apparel worth up to $100.

Provisional 2012 World Superbike Championship Entry List Released

The International Motorcycling Federation has released a preliminary entry list for the 2012 World Superbike Championship. The preliminary list includes 24 entries representing six manufacturers: Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. Noticeably absent is Yamaha which announced last summer it would pull out of WSBK racing.
