1973 Triumph Other (1973)
Purchased last year from a close friend in Dallas, Texas. The engine was brought back to life after some decades by Big D Cycle. The engine seems to run quite well, but it has not been test ridden. Bodywork was completely redone in Dallas also, by the same folks who do Keith Martin's work for Vincent restorations. It's gorgeous. Otherwise, while the bike rolls well, it still needs a little TLC to become concours. OVERVIEW On auction is my 2015 Triumph Thruxton Ace Special Edition. Only 325 of these beautiful bikes were made available in the USA and you won't find a nicer example than this one. I bought the bike in July 2015 and it's been very lightly (and carefully) ridden by a mature owner (only 1194 miles) and lovingly cared for. The Thruxton has been garaged (under two covers) since new. Unfortunately, due to my growing family and work commitments, I no longer have the time to ride, so the bike needs to go to a new home. MODIFICATIONS The only modifications that I have made to the Thruxton was to replace the rear fender, rear light and turn signals with a British Customs fender eliminator kit and small bullet turn signals. The Thruxton's profile is a lot cleaner with the smaller turn signals and stock fender removed. All work was done by the professionals at Dylan Brothers in Nebraska (before they shipped the bike to me last year). No other modifications have been made. Everything else is completely original stock. MSF Begins Year-long Real World Motorcycle Safety Study

Recall for 2011-2012 Triumph Sprint GT, Tiger 800, Tiger 800XC Optional Top Box
Thu, 11 Aug 2011Triumph issued a recall for optional accessory top boxes for the 2011-2012 Sprint GT sport tourer and the Tiger 800 and 800XC dual sports. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the top box locking handle is missing a clip lip to ensure a proper lock on the rear rack. Without this clip, the locking mechanism may not be secure, potentially leading to the top box falling off of the motorcycle.

US Motorcycle Sales First Half 2011 Results

Triumph Announces Expansion to India

Triumph has appointed Ashish Joshi as managing director for its operations in India. Joshi is the former head of European operations for India-based Royal Enfield.

Although the bike has been available since 2006 Akrapovic have only ever offered a slip-on silencer option, electing not to develop a full racing system for this bike. However, after unprecedented demand from the WSS and BSS paddock for racing products the decision was made to develop a full racing system in a modular format that allows the headers to be added to existing customer’s slip-on kits.

This will be Rich’s second tour across the country.

Triumph’s 500,000th Production Motorcycle Headed to Auction on July 1st

World-famous auction house, Bonhams, has recently announced that it will put the special Trumpet on the auction block on July 1, 2011, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Comedian Ross Noble has completed his Sit Down Tour of Great Britain with the milestone Triumph, and now the bike is ready to raise money for Riders for Health charity.
