(be sure to look at the rest of the pictures at the bottom of this auction) OK, now we are ready! If you are interested in the nicest collectible Honda Trail 70 around then stick with me and read on. This bike is right out of my vintage Honda collection. It is an awesome 1970 CT70HK0 - 4 speed manual clutch "H" model. This baby is super nice as you can see. The pictures don’t do it justice. The lighting or the camera settings were off so some of the pictures make it look a different shade of green. The bike was only outside one time since the restoration and that was only to take these pictures. This is the real deal and you will love it!!! This motorcycle will be offered here on eBay for one time only. This bike is for sale locally also so I reserve the right to end the auction if it sell's here at my home town. This CT70H started out as an all original CANDY EMERALD GREEN bike. There were no dings, dents, or bends anywhere on it but from childhood riding, and decades of sitting it had tarnished, had scratches, scuffs, and nicks throughout. The bike begged for a total restoration and with only "637" original miles on it I was up for the challenge. I have restored many of these CT70 bikes, Z50's and lots of other makes and models also over the years. I am very professional and a perfectionist as well so the end result is an awesome bike!!! The bike was totally disassembled. The frame, swing arm, front fork assembly, head light bucket, chain guard, and upper shock caps were all sent to a professional, well known, high quality paint shop. The metal parts were bead blasted, metal – hand smoothed, primer etched, sealed, and painted. The paint is flawless and so beautiful! It really doesn’t get any better then this!!!!! Every screw, bolt, washer, nut and bolt thread are all perfect!!!!! I did not want to neglect anything with this total restoration so the original speedometer was professionally restored as well. It was thoroughly cleaned, oiled, reset, and tested. After the engine was completed it was bench tested and ran for almost 45 minutes. In that time it was tested for idle, for engine acceleration, for smoothness, for ease in starting, for transmission shifting through all 4 gears, etc….. This engine ran great, had plenty of power, and started on the first kick everytime. After the restoration, this Honda has never had a single drop of gasoline in its gas tank or carburetor. This is the way the bike will stay as long as I own it. If the proud new owner wants to gas it up and cruise, well so be it. This CT70 is so beautiful and mint that I do not want to start or ride it. It is displayed in my home in the family room along with all my other collectible bikes. This is one gorgeous motorcycle! There are no damages anywhere on it that I can find. Show quality all the way! You simply will not find a nicer Honda Trail 70H on this planet. Period! If you want the best then you came to the right auction! The time, effort, labor, and money that went into this project was unbelievable to say the least. No corners were cut! Nothing was overlooked! Nothing was second guessed! Even down to the little steel ball that is mounted under each of the two foot pegs were replaced with new ones as well. Not sure if everyone realizes this but to do a project like this it takes about $5000.00 in nos/oem parts and all the painting and prep work. That does not account for any of my time, or labor. Rest assured, with me being the perfectionist I am and never once worrying about how much money was being spent on this restoration, the bike turned out GREAT! All my restored bikes got the same exact treatment and are mint. If you have any negative feedbacks or less then 5 eBay transactions then please contact me before you bid so we can talk. This motorcycle was totally restored but due to its age/nature it is being sold as is with no guarantees, no returns. Serious inquires only! Please do not be alarmed by anything that looks to be defects in the bike. It is only either bad lighting, cloudy outside, reflections, or shadowing which are making blemishes in some of the images. Rest assured this is an awesome fantastic looking CT70H..... Check and read my fabulous positive feedbacks as a seller! I have included a few pictures of the other bikes I will also be selling. A Weighty Issue
Mon, 03 Nov 2008For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
