This is my Baby for the last 25 years..... "Old Reliable". We've seen a lot of territory together.
And as I am almost 67 yrs old it may be time ( we'll see ) to pass it along to the younger generation - and that, in comparison, should be a hella lot of you out there. Always a California bike, I'm the 2nd owner. Got it from Plam BMW in Santa Cruz ( that name will ring bells with the older Airhead set in the Bay Area ). **STAINTUNE STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM, BEAUTIFUL MUSIC** The engine was rebuilt in 2011 by Dave Gardner / Recommend Service, San Francisco. If you know Dave, you know it was done right. He's retired now, but in the day he was Dr. Boxer. It was the $6900 tune up..... ****IT NOW HAS 9040 MILES ON THE REBUILD**** Nikasil barrels, new cam, timing chain, pistons, heads rebuild by Kibblewhite of Pacifica CA ( another name that the cognisenti will know). The whole enchilada. The gearbox, BTW, was fine no issues. ****CHECK OU THE DRIVING LIGHTS - GIVE 'EM SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO LOOK AT, THAT'S MY STRATEGY**** It all works. It's a beauty. Strong. Reliable (duh...). If you're looking for Classic Airhead, well........ PLEASE NOTE: New front / back Metzler's with maybe 300 miles on 'em. BMW Set Record with 115,215 Motorcycles Sold in 2013
Mon, 13 Jan 2014BMW continues to set sales records, announcing the sale of 115,215 motorcycles in 2013. This marks the third consecutive year of record sales, following the 106,358 motorcycles in 2012 and 104,286 motorcycles sold in 2011. We already knew BMW was going to have a banner year last month, when the German manufacturer passed its 2012 figures in just 11 months.
The 2025 Honda CB1000 Hornet – First Look. No, Really This Time.
Wed, 16 Oct 2024A year later than expected, and it brought a special friend Honda introduced its flagship streetfighter model, the CB1000 Hornet, at EICMA last year, with promises it would arrive as a 2024 model. We’re nearly at Halloween and Honda has finally confirmed the CB1000 Hornet is coming, as a 2025 model, and it will be joined by an up-spec SP variant. Well, for Europe at least.
