Honda CBX description

Up for bid is a 1980 Honda CBX Super Sport, it has had a full frame off and body restoration. The frame and all related brackets and swing arm have been taken off prepped, primed and repainted with proper paint and material, the fender, gas tank and tail section were also repainted. All old decals where removed and replaced with new decal kit from Tim's CBX. The correct candy red color came from House of Colors. It has approximately 6 coats of clear, two coats over each color and then 2to3 more over decal kit. Also, all new electrical components where replaced, complete wiring harness, all 3 coils, alternator, starter, rectifier, starter relay, turn signal flasher, starter motor, pulse generator, new battery spark plugs and wires. I believe the carbs were done from the previous owner. I took the bowls off of them and cleaned them also replaced air gap diaphragm, and accelerator pump kit. Carbs run super, everything retuned, starts, runs and rides like new. New clutch and cables, new tires front and rear, brakes rebuilt front and rear including master cylinder, brakes work like new, engine was also prepped and painted with correct color, new valve cover and side cover gaskets from Honda, the engine runs like new no leaks no cam chain noise.it dose not smoke at any RPM, chain and sprockets are in super condition no wear on them, all bearings have been checked and repacked with correct grease. My passion for CBX's started in 1980 with a 1979 model. I also currently have a 1980 CBX I restored in 1996 and I have been driving for most of that time. I am restoring that one and a 1979. Some of the pics of this bike don't do it justice, the bike looks much better in person, most of the parts on this bike where purchased by the world leaders in CBX parts. I have put on around 2000 miles since restoration. I drive this bike every week it is not a trailer queen. It is the center of attention no matter where I go. This bike is also up for sale locally. I also have another seat option available. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs. Joey Dunlop on a V4 Honda at the '83 TT

Fri, 28 Sep 2012

Onboard video footage doesn't get a lot better than this: Joey Dunlop during practice at the TT in 1983 onboard a factory Honda RS850R. An 859cc ultra-short stroke V4 Honda that Joey mastered around The Island, later winning the TT Formula 1. Although the 'production' race, the RS850R stretched that to the limit.
