Yamaha YZ description

80-81 mix YZ250. DOES NOT HAVE TITLE. Not needed in Nevada. Bill of sale sent with bike when paid for and trucked. 5 speed gearbox. 80 frame and wheels, 81 forks. Both ends have Race Tech suspension including emulators in forks. Rear springs are Race Tech and shock was rebuilt by Steve Sage. 81 shock with 80 reservoir so as to no modify frame. Bike handles great! Renthal vintage high bend bars. Sudco Mikuni. DG pipe, FMF silencer/spark arrestor. DC plastics and newer tank from aftermarket. Has a 490 clutch assy.. Stronger and more available out there up to mid 80's. Jetted for 5000 foot altitude. I had replaced all the swingarm pivot bearings and seals a while ago. Has a 5 ounce flywheel weight on rotor but included is a stock rotor. 1.5mm Wiseco bore.

This is a turn key racer and not a restored museum piece. Gas and pull up to the line. Just make sure to up jetting if lower than 4500 Altitude. Some jets in the box of stuff. Comes with a box of extra stuff and a generic manual. I have a ton of $ put in this over the time and if you think you can build a better racer for less, go for it. YOU arrange pickup. I have a couple #'s for traveling drivers. I don't and won't crate it.  I'll deliver it within 100 miles of Reno NV after it's paid for. You don't get my stand.

Glen Richards back with Embassy Racing

Wed, 27 Oct 2010

One of the unsung heroes of the BSB paddock over the past few seasons, has to be 2010 Superstock 1000 runner up Glen Richards. A nasty tumble in at the Brands Hatch opener lead to four DNFs, but once back on track he pushed the dominant BMWs hard, finishing on the podium eight times. While many were trading their grannies to fund new S1000RRs, Richards kept the faith and rode the wheels off his Padgett’s Honda Fireblade.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.

Custom Motorcycle Inspired By…A Stove?

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

The custom motorcycle scene is different in Indonesia. Just take this 1968 Yamaha XS650 for example. Built by Barata Dwiputra of Thrive Motorcycles, his inspiration came from a very unsuspecting source: wood-burning stoves.
