Yamaha FJ1200 tech info
Yamaha FJ1200 description
Selling my 1989 Yamaha FJ1200 Bike is in nice condition with no problems, issues or damage. Has a few light scratches in the paint but nothing significant and no dents, dings, rust, cracks or any other cosmetic issues. The scratches it does have are insignificant for an all original 27 year old bike It is completely stock except for a Zero Gravity windshield and a Givi Monokey trunk box. Givi box has the proper Givi mounting bracket for the FJ - which has been discontinued for years. No mechanical or other alterations Carbs have recently been cleaned and rebuilt. Everything works properly and it runs great. Bike is on the road and I am riding it so mileage is subject to change and if the weather remains nice I guarantee the mileage will change The FJ1200 is the bike that started the Sport Tourer class and if you're not familiar with this bike do a little research on the web and you'll quickly find out why this bike has a dedicated cult following. A classic bike that's not often seen and can easily keep up with modern bikes and even beat many of them. The FJ is fast, has loads of torque, loves corners and is engaging to ride. Sport bike performance with a lot more comfortable ride and it still performs well riding 2 up. It will easily hit the ton and I've done so several times - though I do not condone, endorse or encourage such reprehensible behavior in any way - and it will cruise comfortably on back roads as well. Bike doesn't need a thing, its ready to ride daily or for a major road trip. Please view pics closely for details. Bike is sold as is, as shown. Bike can be picked up here or I will work with your shipper. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and for making the shipping arrangements. I will work with your shipper to get the bike prep'd and ready and to get it picked up by the shipper |

An Island tour with a legend
Fri, 17 Sep 2010What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.
This Is How You Ride A 125cc Two-Stroke + Video
Fri, 09 May 2014It’s too bad two-stroke motorcycles are quickly declining. The lightweight and hard-hitting machines are a blast to ride. They’re all but gone from the street scene (thanks emission laws), but thankfully you can still find some on the dirt side.
