Kawasaki KDX description

Up for bidding is my 1985 KDX 200. I recently put a ton of work into this bike with intentions of riding it myself, but I simply don't have the time to ride.

The bike starts right up, shifts, and handles well. It does smoke quite a bit when you first start it up, but that goes away after a couple minutes. The smoking could simply be that the new piston rings need to wear in still. I've literally only ridden this bike down the street a couple times since it was rebuilt.

Cosmetically this bike is not too bad for the age. Seat is in excellent shape, Most plastics are in ok shape with the exception of the rear fender (see picture). I do not know if the lights work, I have not bothered to buy new bulbs for the bike.

I do not have a title for the bike. Local pickup only. Deposit required within 24 hours of winning bid. Remainder of payment must be either cash or Paypal.

New Parts:

  • Brand new tires front & rear
  • Rear brakes
  • Rear wheel bearings
  • OEM Piston & Rings
  • Professionally rebuilt crankshaft with new bearings
  • New Main Bearings and oil seals
  • New ignition stator
  • Spark Plug
  • Air cleaner
  • New Reeds

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

EICMA 2011: Kawasaki Versys 1000 Not Coming to U.S.

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

While Kawasaki unveiled its Versys 1000 at EICMA, don’t expect to see it on American roadways any time soon (edit: but if you live north of the border in Canada you’re in luck, as it will offered for CN$13,999, a bit higher than the Z1000 but the same price as the Ninja 1000): What will we be missing? A bigger, badder version of the original Kawasaki Versys seems to be the answer. “Created as the long-awaited big brother of Kawasaki’s mid-size any-road street surfer, the new Versys 1000 is designed to enable the greatest riding enjoyment in the widest variety of street riding situations,” Kawasaki Motors Europe says in a release.
