Honda CB description

You are bidding on one 1974 Honda CB450 vintage motorcycle. I am the second owner of this vehicle. I purchased this motorcycle in 1993 from a person who had let it sit outside for a number of years in his driveway. My Father and I restored it, taking it down to the bare frame sandblasting every piece and primed and painted it then reassembled back to the shape you see in the pictures. We replaced the fork seals, and gave it a new exhaust pipe. Of course it was a little cleaner back then. I have kept this bike in my garage since 1997, maybe putting 300 miles on it myself before getting too busy working full time and raising a family. This bike will run with a little money put into it. Here are a few items to mention.

  1. Motorcycle has two new tires(New in 1994) Avon Roadrunner AM20 $120.00 that are still in good shape. Only 300 miles put on them if that.
  2. Seat has been taken from another bike and manufactured to fit where the old seat used to be.
  3. Seat was reupholstered, but a cat got to it and "sharpened" his claws on it, leaving small tears in it.
  4. Bike needs a tuneup. It had a tuneup before I let it sit in my garage, but I would change everything again since it has run in so long.
  5. Bike will run, was running fine till I no longer gave it anymore riding time.
  6. Engine turns over just fine.
  7. Needs a battery.
  8. Gas lines will need to be replaced, three all together. I have the old ones still if you want to have them for reference when you go the autoparts store to get replacements.
  9. Gas tank will need to be resealed. I used one of those epoxy sealers on the inside to keep rust from forming on the inside of the gas tank. It is now flaking off of the inside and will not be good to run through your system.
  10. minor scratches and dents located all over the bike, expected for a 40 year old motorcycle.
  11. Electric start.
  12. Last time it was run, there was a slight issue with advancing past 35mph.
Would prefer a local pickup, however if you want to pay or arrange for a company to ship it you may do so at your own expense. Full payment is due within 7 days of close of Auction. Paypal only.
