BMW R-Series description

2009 R1200GS ADVENTURE, RED- CLEAN AS A WHISTLE, MECHANICALLY SOUND, OVERALL SUPERB CONDITION. STANDARD ABS & SUSPENSION.

What you need to know:
Comes with a Low Sargent Seat (I am 5'9" and it is very comfortable), Anti-vibration Rox Risers, Aftermarket Hurric Exhaust, Ram mount and GPS mount, Fog Lights, Fobo Tire Pressure senors and the Original BMW pannier system. The engine is stellar- you could take off for Patagonia tomorrow if you so desired. Last oil change/service at 46,800 miles. Tires still have good deal of tread left. Chrome and aluminum are in excellent shape. 2 Sets of Keys!!

Cosmetically, the bike is in great shape with the exception of some scuff marks/scratches on the panniers and rear brake line protector (shown in pics). The support wire connecting to the lid in the right pannier is a little bent but does its job fine. There is some cloudiness/fading of the black- colored sides of gas tank above the seat (hard to notice upon a glance).

The gas tank will need a new fuel strip- currently the fuel gauge only reads until half a tank and gets stuck there. The left-hand heated grip will need to have wiring re-soddered or replaced- it only heats partially (right heated grip is fine).

Those are the only flaws- I prefer to be detailed about them so that there are no surprises for you. Clean South Carolina Title in hand. There were 2 owners before me in NY and AL- never a mechanical issue/rebuild- background check the VIN for yourself.

At some point in my life I will own one of these again; however my new baby comes first! Hard to let this one go...buyer must agree to carry on the adventure spirit.

Thirty-two years after his death, Steve McQueen still reigns as the coolest movie star to ever ride a motorcycle. This 1970 Husqvarna 400 Cross owned and ridden by Steve McQueen will be up for auction on January 10th, at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, by Bonhams. The motorcycle comes with an exhaustive quantity of documents supporting its provenance and authenticity.

The solution to a pricey GPS mount

Wed, 26 Aug 2009

So you've gone out and bought your BMW R1200GS, you're ready to circumnavigate the globe's toughest roads - or ride over some potholes on your way to work - but you've got a dilemma: no way to mount your GPS device! So what you should do is exactly what this chap's done and use a spatula and a few rubber bands to mount-up your GPS for easy use. And the bonus is that when you get to where you're going, you can use the spatula with your BBQ and triple it up as a fly-swatter too.
