BMW R-Series description
You are bidding on a 1977 BMW R75/7. I have had the bike for about six years, always stored in my heated garage. I bought it from an older gentleman who had it for many years but he was giving up riding. Nice BMW, I just never had time to get it on the road. Bike was running fine when I put it away. Every few months or so I would turn the engine over. I sprayed a little gas in the carburetors a few days ago and it fired over. These motors are just about bullet proof and I am sure this will not take much to get up and running and on the road. I knew the man who owned it and he took very good care of it.. Bike has matching numbers and a clear title. Metzler Tires were new when I put it in the garage and they are still like new. Bike was always on the center stand. Never in an accident. Inside tank is pretty clean. Bike just basically needs cosmetics. I have not cleaned it. It has a brand new factory carburetor. All of the lights work. Horn works. Bike shifts fine. Rear brakes work, front brakes will need to be bled. Denfeld Seat. Weinmann wheels. Lufmeister fairing. Bike has 23,273 miles. The right exhaust pipe has some rust but I do have a replacement. The trim piece on the odometer is a little brittle, easily replaced. Bike has no leaks and I guarantee the engine to be strong. I have all of the original manuals to the bike. In 1977 BMW made a R75/7 model, the last of the 750 models. Production was between the end of 1976 and end of 1977. BMW only produced them for 6 months before replacing them with the R80. This was a very good motorcycle. The 1977 bikes had good horsepower output, good torque. The R75/7 turned in an impressive performance when tested back in 1977 by Bike magazine, which reckoned it was faster than its maker claimed. Nice low production rare BMW 75/7.
