Up for Auction in a freshly restored / all serial numbers matching 1962 BMW R60/2. This motorcycle was disassembled down to every last nut and bolt. The engine was disassembled and replaced with new pistons,rings, all new seals , gaskets etc. The slingers were also cleaned at that time. The drives were also inspected and updated. The bikes frame was bead blasted and powder coated black. The fenders were in good shape and didn't require much work but were also repainted and striped. The gas tank was in excellent condition. The rims are Weinmann. They were polished and respoked. The carburetors were disassembled, inspected and rebuilt. Everything on this bike was restored back to original specs. No expense was spared on the restoration. Whatever needed to be done was done. Please see the pictures of the original tool kit, owners manual and protective sleeve and most important is the orignial owners hand written service records which date back to the day of original purchase over 52 years ago! Amazing that these records exist and follow this bike.This restoration was completed by a mechanic who has years of restoration experience and has a passion for motorcycles. 30th Anniversary Edition BMW K1300S Announced for EICMA
Thu, 25 Oct 2012BMW announced it will mark the 30th anniversary of its K series with a special edition K1300S. The 2013 BMW K1300S “30 Jahre K-Modelle” will be presented at the 2012 EICMA show in Milan, Italy in a couple of weeks’ time. Though perhaps not as popular as BMW‘s R series boxer models, the K series served as a platform for a number of technologies that were either new for BMW or new for the motorcycle industry.

BMW is the first motorcycle manufacturer to launch a range of models that can be ordered from the factory with lowered suspension – to provide customers with low seat height options.
BMW Set Single Month Sales Record in April 2013 – New R1200GS Represents 27.7% of Sales Volume
Mon, 13 May 2013BMW announced it set a new company all-time sales record for a single month, delivering 14,587 motorcycles to customers in April 2013. That represents an 11.5% increase from the 13,088 motorcycles sold in April 2012. The record month helped push BMW‘s overall sales over the first four months to 39,319 motorcycles and scooters, a 5.0% increase from the 13,088 units sold in the same period of 2012.
