BMW K-Series description

Garage Kept BMW K1200LT, bike is on a battery tender when in the garage. This bike is well maintained by a BMW Certified Mechanic. As much as I love this bike - I have only ridden it 1,500 miles in the last year. It deserves to be ridden by someone with more time than I have. Equipped with GPS, AM/FM radio, CD Player. Electronic Windshield. Cup Holder. Extra LED Driving lights are installed. Heated seat and grips. The bike came from the factory with a power center stand. When the power center stand failed several years ago BMW told me there were two parts that could fail. One cost $6.00 - the other was $1,400. The failed part was the expensive one. I had the dealer remove the power center stand and replace it with a manual center stand from a 2004 K1200LT. The tires were replaced last year. The radio was replaced 4 years ago. Battery is new. The drivers backrest is not in the picture, but comes with the bike. The windshield is an aftermarket upgrade. This bike handles like a dream, on the back streets, on country roads, on the superhighway you couldn't ask for a better ride. Very capable to handle riding two up for long periods. Located in Northern Virginia - I can deliver in the Mid Atlantic States for a modest fee. EICMA 2012: BMW Announces New Boxer to Mark 90th Anniversary

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

Over the summer, we came across spy photos of a new naked version of the BMW S1000RR and a new air-cooled boxer roadster and hoped at least one of the two would be unveiled at either Intermot or the EICMA. Intermot came and went without a word and now EICMA is upon us we have … well, several words but no new model. Yet.

BMW Bounces Back with Record August Sales

Thu, 06 Sep 2012

When BMW released its second quarter report last month, the company reported a 4.2% decrease in BMW and Husqvarna motorcycle sales due mainly to a struggling European economy. The economic woes persist but BMW appears to be recovering, reporting a new sales record for the month of August. BMW reports sales of 7,400 motorcycles and scooters in August 2012, a company record for the month and an 11.3% increase from the 6,646 units sold in August 2011 and 14.7% more than the 6,405 units sold in August 2010.
