Aprilia TUONO description

Breaks my heart to sell it. Have to for financial reasons.  Bought in new in the fall for a little over 17K, including tax and a jacket. Stored it for several months in the winter. Barely ridden.  This is a rare opportunity to get the bike at such a cheap price.  Have to get out from under the loan.  Gonna take a big bath here. Has about 5 months left on the Manufacturers warranty.

This is simply an amazing bike, the best in all regards I have ever experienced.  So elegant in the vicious amount of speed it has.  The braking is smooth, I have never noticed the ABS.  No shuddering.  I have been very gentle with it since the engine is new.  The low end to high end torque and sheer power is surreal.  It lays down a tight line, no diving or wobbling ever, moves like it has gyroscopes under it. At highway speeds it purrs like a kitten. Just a profoundly elegant ride in all respects as well as a beast when the throttle is twisted.  The computer is simple to use.  The bike wants the open road with high speed twisties.

Take a look at the review on YouTube.  It is a mind blowing bike.

I was delving around old press kits and found this Aprilia Enjoy, electric push-bicycle from 10 years ago. It had a top speed of around 20mph and a range of (probably) about 25 miles. But who cares?

EICMA 2013: Aprilia To Enter MotoGP In 2016

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

Amidst all of the uncertainty with the future of Aprilia’s racing plans, Roberto Colaninno, chairman of the Piaggio Group, which owns Aprilia, confirmed Tuesday at EICMA that the brand was in fact making a full-fledged return to MotoGP in 2016 as a factory team. Colaninno was quoted as saying, “In 2016 Aprilia will return to MotoGP to win and match the success it had in [World] Superbikes.” Aprilia has been going through some turmoil of late when it was announced that technical director Luigi Dall’Igna was jumping ship to rival Ducati. This announcement aims to quell the turmoil and refocus the racing team’s attention.
