Yamaha YZF tech info
Yamaha YZF description
Don't let the year model fool you. This bike has been hardly ridden. I bought it two years ago and the paint was barely rubbed next to the foot pegs. I bought it for my son and he rode it maybe 5 times for a short time. Has not been wrecked, laid down, altered, raced or hurt in any way. All plastic, Seat and tires are in excellent condition. Bike is in exceptional condition. No dissapointments. Runs and rides excellent. I have the MSO title that came with the bike when new. Mileage is unknown but it can't be many. I also have an excellent Suzuki YZ400F on Ebay that I rode with my son.

Tue, 06 Jan 2009When Yamaha announced its new R1 literbike last fall, company reps told us about the tractability assets of its new, MotoGP-derived crossplane crankshaft for the four-cylinder engine. It’s unique in that cylinders fire 90-degrees apart, allegedly enabling better grip during acceleration. A byproduct of this design is an exhaust note that is distinctive in this world of cookie-cutter designs.
Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
AMA Supercross: 2012 Los Angeles Results
Mon, 23 Jan 2012Chad Reed won his first race of the 2012 AMA Supercross season in Los Angeles but the victory was overshadowed by a first-lap collision that left Trey Canard and Ryan Morais with broken backs. Racing for Team Honda Muscle Milk, Canard was injured on the first lap after catching a piece of some signage. That forced him to single a triple jump, putting him in the path of Star Valli Yamaha rider Ryan Morais who landed on Canard from behind.
