The Yamaha R6 was the world's 1st 600cc production four-stroke motorcycle producing over 100 horsepower (75 kW) in stock form. It was introduced in 1999 as the super sport version of Yamaha's Yamaha YZF-R1 super bike. The YZF-R6 has been revised several times since its introduction. Starting with the 2003 model, the R6 became fuel-injected. The 2006 model year was a significant upgrade with a new engine management system featuring the YCC-T ride by wire throttle and a multi- plate slipper clutch. Day 5 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins Stage, Moves Into Overall Lead
Thu, 09 Jan 2014Red Bull KTM factory rider and three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma won stage five today followed by his teammate Jordi Viladoms and KTM supported rider Kuba Przygonski allowing KTM to scoop the top three places. Today´s stage five from Chilecito to Tucuman was characterized by hot temperatures, lots of sand and navigation in dry vegetation. Organizers decided to cancel the second part of the special for safety reasons and also because heavy thunderstorms threatened the area.
EICMA 2008: First Impressions

2012 Yamaha XT250 and TW200 Dual Sports Announced
Wed, 08 Jun 2011Yamaha unveiled a pair of 2012 dual sport models, the Yamaha XT250 and the Yamaha TW200. Both the 2012 Yamaha XT250 and TW200 remain unchanged from the 2011 versions except for a new white and blue color scheme and white front fenders instead of last year’s black fenders. The XT250 is powered by an air-cooled 249cc four-stroke engine with a 33mm carburetor.
