Yamaha YZF-R description

2005 Yamaha YZF-R6, This 2005 Yamaha YZF-R6 is a parts only bike. The frame and body have 11,709 miles and appears to be in decent shape. The motor however, is not operable and we do not know what caused the motor failure. The front fairing, tank and rear tail are O.E.M. Yamaha body work. The side fairings seem to be painted flat black and are missing the lower bolts to secure to frame. This bike is being sold as is, with no warranty or service work completed. Shawn Higbee Wins On The Brough Superior Taylor Made Racing Moto2

Thu, 01 May 2014

In only its second race appearance, the Brough Superior Taylor Made Racing Moto2 bike competed in the WERA F1 and B Superbike events on April 27th at the Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, California, run in conjunction with the first round of the GEICO Superbike Shootout, presented by Yamaha. During the F1 race, rider Shawn Higbee moved up to as high as 2nd place from a 5th row start on the Brough Superior TMRGP2 bike.  The TMRGP2′s lightweight all carbon fiber chassis and 600cc Honda powerplant demonstrated impressive cornering speed on the tight infield sections but could not match the top speed of the heavily modified 1000cc F1 bikes on the long straights. On the last lap Higbee was shuffled back to 4th place at the finish line.

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Motorcycle Suspensions + Video

Mon, 07 Jul 2014

More than just “those bouncy things” that keep our motorcycles on the road, suspension plays a vital role in virtually every aspect of a motorcycle’s handling. But how well do you know what goes on inside a set of forks, or inside a shock? In this video, courtesy of the Yamaha Champions Riding School, Mark Rozema, proprietor of Markbilt Racing, explains exactly how suspensions work and why there are so many different variations.

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap

Tue, 24 Apr 2012

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
