For your consideration is my 2000 YZF R1. This has been a great streetbike for me but it is time for it to go. The bike has never been crashed, however it does have a few scuffs on the left side where a former friend of mine knocked it over in a parking lot. The result of this can be seen also in the picture from above where a small corner of the left fairing is cracked off, I have the piece and it should be able to be glued on. Aside from that it will be due for tires but is rideable the way it is. It has a blue flame quad undertail exhaust which is a 1-2-4 so it does not affect the EXUP valve in any way and when new was a $2500 slip on. There is 2 broken clamps for the exhaust but I still have the old ones. This is a good used bike which will last a long time and it will come with a matching helmet, cover & factory Yamaha service manual. In addition it does have a 520 chain and sprocket kit as well as has been rejetted to accomodate the exhaust. Purchaser is responsible for pickup of item locally in Mid-Michigan. Anti clockwise Knockhill and riding in the North East with GP winners.
Wed, 06 Jun 2012I was both nervous and excited for my first ever reverse direction track day last week at Knockhill. From rushing downhill into the left hand off camber hairpin to sweeping up onto the start/finish, nothing bears any resemblance to riding round clockwise. I actually raced my 350LC in the opposite direction in 1982 but it still took a few laps to get my head round what essentially is a brand new track for Scotland.

Tue, 01 May 2012I'm partial to a bit of origami and have been frustratingly screwing up paper trying to master Yamaha's paper craft series for a while now. Jack Chen from Australia has not only made a mockery of my model making failures, but he also made this version which is 40% smaller than a full-size Yamaha YZF-R1, out of cardboard.
