Yamaha to Open Plant in Pakistan

Yamaha is reportedly planning to open a new manufacturing facility in Pakistan. According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Yamaha would invest $150 million in the new 50 acre facility, to be located in Karachi, Pakistan’s main seaport and financial hub. The plant would produce motorcycles for the Pakistani market, as well as models to be exported to other Commonwealth of Independent States nations.

Yamaha Motor Corp. will be the presenting sponsor of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast at Daytona, presented by Yamaha, on Friday, March 14, in Daytona Beach, Fla. This year’s special guest will be motorcycle inventor, designer, racer and Hall of Famer Craig Vetter.

Valentino Rossi achieved the team’s goal of lapping under two minutes and two seconds with a time of 2:01.886 while completing 44 laps on the second day of testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit.
