Yamaha YZ tech info
Yamaha YZ description
2004 Yamaha YZ85, . - Serious Fun Make no mistake; the YZ85 is every bit as serious a competition machine as its bigger-bore brethren. From the knobs on its Dunlops, through the fully adjustable front and rear Kayaba suspenders, right through its ultra-rigid twin-spar high-tensile steel frame and clear into where the flat seat/tank junction meets the seat of your pants-the YZ85 means serious business. You've got 85cc of high-revving liquid-cooled muscle multiplying through a six-speed gearbox , powering a package that weighs a mere 146 pounds. The inverted Kayaba fork dishes out nearly 11 in. of supple, well-controlled wheel travel, you've got 11.1 in. out back. And, the light and powerful 220mm front and 190mm rear disc brakes provide controllable stopping power and feel. Do the math. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out you're sitting on one.

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap
Tue, 24 Apr 2012Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
