Yamaha YZ description

1983 Yamaha YZ 125K in excellent running condition.  I purchased this bike two years ago in original condition to race in vintage motocross races here in Florida.  I have had a blast racing it and have been fairly successful, frequently finishing in first or second in the 1980-1985 Open Class (all cc size bikes).  I now want to purchase a pre 1975 vintage motocross bike.  As you can see in the pictures, I use aftermarket number plates when I race as the originals are rare.  The aftermarket plates are not included with the bike.

1983 was a great year for the YZ 125.  Yamaha had figured out water-cooled engines by this point, as well as '83 being the first year for Yamaha Power Valve, which helps with low end torque as well as top end speed.

As I mentioned earlier, I bought this bike as an original survivor.  All plastics are OEM Yamaha that have been polished.  I get a ton of compliments regarding them.  The front fender is NOS, as this is the only piece of plastic that is still readily available.

I have had all the following done to the bike since owning it.  All engine work professionally done by a vintage motorcycle shop here in Jacksonville, FL.

-New top and bottom end to include cylinder bore, new piston and ring, and new crank and bearings.  Less than 5 hours. This alone cost $1500
-Complete Carburetor disassembly with cleaning and rejetting
-New original Reed Valves
-New water impeller with water seal
-All new engine gaskets
-Front forks and rear monoshock rebuilt
-New front and rear Michelin XC intermediate terrain tires with new tubes and rim locks
-New O-ring Chain
-New Front and Rear Sprockets
-New Front Brake Cable
-New Air Filter

I do not have a title for it.  Ebay made me put something.

When it comes to improving the performance of a motorcycle’s weakest link, Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill have taken on an enormous task. You see, this link is always changing and never constant, but can be molded and improved. It’s not a motorcycle at all.

2015 Yamaha FZ-07 Certified by California Air Resources Board

Tue, 20 May 2014

Although Yamaha has yet to announce the FZ-07 for American consumption, new documents from the California Air Resources Board lead us to believe it’s on its way to U.S. dealers. The FZ-07 was first revealed last fall at EICMA as the MT-07, which is the name it is being sold under in Europe, Japan and other markets.

And it's goodbye from him

THIS IS Valentino Rossi's farewell letter to his Fiat Yamaha team following the announcement the flambouyant Italian is to head to Ducati MotoGP in 2011.The hand-written letter, mistakes and all, is written in almost a 'my first romance' kinda way. It's touching, if a little bizarre. Some of the letter reads:“Unfortunately even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave a lot of wonderful memories, like when my M1 and I kissed for the first time on the grass at Welkom, when she looked straight in my eyes and told me ‘I love you!'"Somehow, we can't see Casey Stoner gushing quite as freely when he leaves Ducati for Repsol Honda.
