It is finally time. I am selling my 1978 Yamaha 400e YZ. I bought the bike in
1978 and rode it while living in California and since moving to Utah in 1979. It
has not been ridden much in the last 20 years. It has been a fantastic bike and
absolutely reliable through all the years. I originally thought about selling my
bike just "As Is". But since it has been such a great experience owning and
riding this bike that I decided to refurbish the bike first and then sell it. I thought my bike deserved the time, the cost and the effort as payback for all the fun times over the last 38 years of ownership.
The bike has the original matching numbers frame and motor; 2K8002061 Clear Pink Slip Title This is a No Reserve Auction! The bike has been completely disassembled and cleaned and painted and many parts replaced as needed. I have spent many hundreds of dollars and over a hundred hours to get my bike in the current condition. Please see the many pics. New Plastic set, new chain, new UNI dual air filter, new air filter metal cage, new chain rub blocks, new/as new tires, new cable guides, new grips, Magura dogleg levers, new chain guards, new kick start boot, new seat cover, etc, etc. I am also including many used parts in this auction sale. Spare 1978 400e YZ close ratio gear set, a set of excellent clutch plates, clutch holding tool, fly wheel remover tool, 12, 13, & 15 teeth counter sprockets, and spare new front tubes and spare new rear tubes. Original Owner's manual and a Clymers Yamaha 1975-1980 Maintenance Manual. I may be able to assist in arranging shipping. Giacomo Agostini Celebrates 70th Birthday with a New 2012 Yamaha T-Max
Mon, 18 Jun 2012Racing legend Giacomo Agostini celebrated his 70th birthday at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone this weekend, where he was celebrated by Yamaha. “Ago”, who holds the all-time record for Grand Prix wins (122) and Grand Prix World Championships (15), was feted in a ceremony that also included current Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies as well as retired racers Loris Capirossi, Phil Read, John Cooper, Angel Nieto, Franco Uncini and Jim Redman, as well as MotoGP promoter Carmelo Ezpeleta and Yamaha Classic Racing Team principal Ferry Brouwer. Yamaha presented Agostini with a one-off T-Max scooter with livery inspired by his 1975 championship-winning YZR500 OW23.

Yamaha Trademarks Design for Three-Cylinder Sport-Tourer
Mon, 11 Aug 2014Yamaha has registered a trademark for the design of a sport-touring model based on the FZ-09. Filed with European Union’s Office for Harminization in the Internal Market, the trademarked design reveals a brand new model sharing the same frame and engine as the FZ-09 (known in Europe as the MT-09.) Discuss this at our Yamaha FZ-09 Forum. The new model will likely be compete against motorcycles such as the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and a rumored S1000RR-based model from BMW.
