Yamaha YZ description

For Sale: Used Yamaha Dirt Bike

Bought second hand in 1992, previous owner unknown.
It has been sitting for two winters, so the carburetor needs to be cleaned. The bike could use a new throttle return spring and pet-cock.
I used to work at Carolina Yamaha - I had a good parts connection.
Below is a list of stuff I've gone through and an approximate time of use since:

Cylinder re-sleeved & on second bore, Wisco piston & rings - 10 hours
Rebuilt EBC clutch - 5 hours
Custom built header pipe & muffler - 20 hours
Purple aluminum Renthal handlebars (unbent) - 15 hours
TMV Universal Gunner Gasser Motorcycle Throttle - 20 hours
Rebuilt aluminum swing arm with new Yamaha bearings/bushings - 25 hours
Front Dunlop knobby - 20 hours
Rear Kenda knobby - 5 hours
Replaced brake/clutch with Motion Pro cables - 25 hours
Maier Bark Busters (ideal for the Carolina pines) - 15 hours
Replaced front & rear brakes/EBC shoes - 25 hours
Replaced old seat cover with Ceet cover - 5 hours   seat frame not original
Sidewinder front and rear sprockets & EK chain - 30 hours

As you can see by the pictures, this bike is vintage, and complete.

No warranty/returns please. I pledge that everything described and shown here to be accurate. I have 100% feedback as a buyer and seller so bid with confidence.

Thanks for shopping!!

PS  If you are not local but still interested in buying, if you agree to arrange & pay for shipping, I am willing to crate the item for $250.

Yamaha Auctioning Cal Crutchlow’s Leathers To Benefit Oklahoma Relief Fund

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

The terrible events that occurred in Oklahoma were tragic. To help with the rebuilding efforts, Yamaha is auctioning off a pair of Cal Crutchlow’s leathers, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Feed The Children. FTC’s aim is to provide food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to families who lack these essentials due to war, poverty, famine, or natural disasters.

Simon and Leo

Thu, 11 Aug 2011

If you are a track day regular this year, you may well have bumped into former racer and friendly Kiwi, Simon Crafar. I first met him in Malaysia in 1990 when he was riding for a Yamaha dealer team, sweating his way round circuits like Shah Alam and Johor Bahru but with a long term plan to make it onto the World scene. And he didn’t take long as after riding for Honda in the UK in 1992 he moved to WSB in 1994 and enjoyed success with both the Honda and Kawasaki factory teams.

Seeley On Form On First Night Of North West 200

Fri, 16 May 2014

Alastair Seeley took a double in the Ballymoney Borough council Supersport and Pirtek Superstock events at the start of racing at the Vauxhall International North West 200 this evening, what many “real” road racers refer to as the precursor to the Isle Of Man TT. In the Supersport race, the ‘Wee Wizard’ survived being caught up in a first lap crash at York hairpin that left him languishing in 16th to come through and win the opening race of the night on his Mar-Train Yamaha R6. Lee Johnston was the rider who went down in the first lap crash, causing Seeley to take evasive action to avoid going down himself.
