Up for sale is my very nice 80 xt500, this is a low mileage bike at only 5,074 miles,all original down to the factory mirror,bike is not new, it does have a couple scratches and a couple of dings in the tank(I have a perfect tank if you want to purchase it separately)I have had 2 knee surgeries and I am getting older than I think I am LOL so it is getting harder to kick these big thumpers over for me,and I just don't ride it any more. Up for sale is my trusty xt 225. I live in Wisconsin so I never ride it. Its either winter, raining, or no time. So it has a whooping 4500 miles on it over 20 years of life. I bought it in 2011 and ride it about 200 miles a year, so time to sell it. I dropped it once in my garage and dented the tank. Then I had it in the back of my truck and dropped it and bent the bars. Then last fall, I was goofing off on some sand on the road and laid it down dented the left side further as seen in photos. The left mirror came off in the back of the truck when I dropped it in the bed of my flatbed. So, its a little beat up but not from hammering it on the trails. Anyhow, it has a new back tire, new luggage rack and runs like a top. But, it has been 3 years since the carb has been worked on so it needs some adjustment as it leaks out the overflow of the carb when the tank is full and the bike is parked if the fuel cock is not turned off. $1500 is firm and it ships from 54601. email me through ebay if you need to talk to me. This auction bid is for a 1980 Yamaha XT 250 dual sport. I purchased the bike from the original owner approximately 8 years ago for my wife; she rode it a couple of times and it's been stored since. Overall condition is very good for its age. There is a dent in the left side of the tank and the the handlebar is bent slightly (by original owner). There are also some chips in the sidecovers as seen in the photos. Mechanically the bike is in great shape and runs well. While removing the exhaust for painting the head broke off one of the exhaust bolts; the exhaust gasket still seals but this should be fixed before the bike is ridden extensively (no more than a $75 fix at your local bike shop, I've lowered the reserve to address this). The battery and tires are original and should also be replaced as well. Overall a very nice bike for riding or full restoration. The bike is being offered as-is with no warranty. I am relisting the bike as the previous high bidder did not pay for/pick up the bike within the specified timeframe; please do not bid unless you are serious about completing this transaction. Payment/delivery terms are as follows: The winning bidder is required to contact me via eBay messaging within 48 hours of auction close and specify a pickup date and time. Yamaha Trademarks Design for Three-Cylinder Sport-Tourer
Mon, 11 Aug 2014Yamaha has registered a trademark for the design of a sport-touring model based on the FZ-09. Filed with European Union’s Office for Harminization in the Internal Market, the trademarked design reveals a brand new model sharing the same frame and engine as the FZ-09 (known in Europe as the MT-09.) Discuss this at our Yamaha FZ-09 Forum. The new model will likely be compete against motorcycles such as the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and a rumored S1000RR-based model from BMW.
Lorenzo Signs Two-Year Extension with Yamaha
Thu, 07 Aug 2014Two-time MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo has signed a contract extension with Yamaha to see him race on the company’s factory team through the 2016 season. The signing comes as no real surprise, following similar two-year contract extensions for teammate Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa. Ducati also confirmed it would field Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone next season, so unless Lorenzo wanted to spend a season or two developing Suzuki‘s or Aprilia‘s new prototypes, Lorenzo’s only option for a factory ride was to re-sign with Yamaha.
Stefan Bradl Signs with NGM Forward for 2015 MotoGP Season

Bradl will ride the Forward Yamaha Open class machine next season after spending his entire premier-class career with the LCR Honda team riding the RC213V. “It’s with great pleasure that we welcome Stefan Bradl in our team,” says Giovanni Cuzari, Forward Racing team owner.
Yamaha Champions Riding School August Update
Tue, 05 Aug 2014Our friends at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have been busy lately. Since moving to New Jersey Motorsports park in April, traffic has steadily risen, with June being sold out and July not far behind. August is very promising with some new ideas (one-day clinics to bring a more economical program to a larger group of riders) being inserted into the mix as well as a normal two-day school at the end of the month, which is already 80% full thanks to the yearly visit from the engineering department of Harley Davidson. Following August YCRS will have two schools the week directly after the AMA Pro races at NJMP.
