Yamaha XT description

2014 Yamaha XT250, 2014 Yamaha XT250GO WHERE YOU WANT.The electric stars, fuel injected XT250 is the bike for the person who wants the versatility to go wherever the road or trail might take them. Light and nimble with a low seat height and legendary Yamaha durability, the XT is the perfect traveling companion.Standard Features249cc air-cooled four-stroke with 9.5:1 compression makes for great on- and off-road performance. The XT250 has fuel injection for smooth throttle response and easy starting in nearly all conditions.A light-and-strong forged piston inside a plated cylinder helps dissipate heat more efficiently, increasing both performance and durability.A semi-double-cradle steel frame achieves a lighter, nimbler feel through greater mass centralization. Greater lateral and torsional rigidity and reduced weight of the lower frame parts help produce light, stable handling. The front fork has 8.9 inches of travel to soak up the rough stuff, both on-road and off. An aluminum lower triple clamp keeps the weight down.Maximum turning angle of the handlebar is 51 degrees almost like a trials machine. Combined with a short wheelbase of only 53.5 inches, the XT250 has a super-tight turning radius for excellent maneuverability.

I can’t get enough of pictures that capture a specific, hard to define moment; the successful encapsulation of the absolute balls-to-the-wall, life or death commitment that riding a motorbike as fast as possible involves.  We all know. We’ve all been there – even if it’s only a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Maybe (for us mere mortals) it’s that rapidly, yet unexpectedly, tightening left-hand bend with a shitty, mud-covered veneer just at the apex.

2014 AMA Supercross – Oakland Results

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

With three different racers tasting victory in the first three rounds of the 2014 AMA Supercross Championship, the season was shaping up to be one of the deepest and most competitive fields we’ve seen. But at Round Four at O.o Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., Ryan Villopoto showed why he remains the top dog, leading each lap for his second win of the season. The Kawasaki rider only trailed at the very start of the race, as Honda rider Vince Friese took the holeshot with Yamaha‘s Justin Brayton slotting in second through the first corner.

My Cadburys Boost YZF 750 comes back to life.

Sat, 01 Sep 2012

After winning my 3rd BSB title in 1998, as an end of season bonus, Yamaha UK kindly handed over my beloved Cadburys Boost YZF 750. There were three of these ex factory bikes in Rob Mac’s team; one went to me, the big man still has one, and the third was sold for a sum that was never disclosed. I had three cracking years on this special machine battling against team mates Whitham, Walker and Hislop and breaking most lap records along the way. The hard charging Bayliss, Reynolds and Rymer were also thrown into the mix on occasions just to make life even more interesting.
