1978 Yamaha XS (1978)
Here is a 1978 Yamaha XS400 project with 5,877 actual miles! bike has been inside storage for three years ran when parked but leaked gas from the bottom of the tank, there was a attempt to patch the leak but still leaks, motor kicks over with good compression with the kicker on the side of the bike, throttle is free, front brake doesn't work rear stops the wheel but drags on the rotor so it might need to be unbolted to push the bike around, clutch lever pulls in,tranni shifts threw the gears, might be some rust here and there on the bike and might be missing a nut or bolt also and or other everything I have for the bike is in the pictures, selling as is although I don't see any major repairs that the bike will need, the carbs might need cleaning before the motor will run, needs a battery,i have a clear title, buyer will have to pay for shipping and locate there own shipper if one is needed I'm not sure there prices I have met with them several times usually uship.com,i can store the bike for one week after the auction ends, auction may end early because I might sell the bike before the auction ends, paypal or Walmart wire transfer accepted as payment if your not local,Thanks for looking and good luck bidding I'm located in Minnesota and the bike is in storage and the zip code is 55304,Im always looking to buy old and or unwanted Motorcycles and Snowmobiles,Thanks Carl.2016-12-06 04:39:24Forest Lake, Minnesota, United States57500

1978 Yamaha XS (1978)
This is a custom 1978 Yamaha XS650. The bike started out as a stock bike in great shape and was taken apart, chopped and a TC Brothers hard tail was installed. The frame, motor, and sheet metal is all done in metallic blue powder coat. The rims were blasted and powder coated black then new bearings were installed and Firestone Deluxe tires. The electrical system was updated with a new regulator rectifier which was mounted in a fake oil tank with a sealed battery and all other electrical parts. All wiring is made of modern cloth coated wire which has silicon heat shielding and was hidden in copper pipe. The exhaust was custom made with solid brass tips which match the grips and pegs. All starter parts were removed from the motor in an effort to reduce weight and the bike is kick start only. The forks and triple trees were shaved and polished as were the brake calipers. The rear master cylinder is made of glass, brass and billet aluminum and the gas cap is also made of brass. The seat is custom hand tooled leather. Lots of custom parts on this bike. I made the bike in 2012 so it has four year of wear on it, see pictures. The battery was just replaced in the bike. Sold as is and buyer is responsible for pickup. $200 deposit due via PayPal within 48 hours of winning bid and remaining balance due via certified check or money order within 7 days of purchase.2016-11-14 04:45:55San Benito, Texas, United States162200

1978 Yamaha XS (1978)
Selling my 1978 Yamaha XS1100F bike, the bike has been kept in storage under cover most of its life and has been sitting ever since we got it from its original owner. The bike was involved in a collision which affected the left side of the engine. Besides breaking the cover over the bikes distributor, it doesn’t appear to have damaged anything else on the bike. The bike has really low miles with only 5718 on the odometer.2016-10-22 04:41:43Phoenix, Arizona, United States53600

1978 Yamaha XS (1978)
For your consideration is this stunning Yamaha XS650 Bobber / Chopper crafted by Martin Brothers Customs Texas , less than 1,000 miles since built ,this motorcycle rides as nice as it looks and never fails to draw a crowd ,taking first place in every show it has been entered in locally . Yamaha knew what they were doing when they designed this engine ,then it was placed in a hardtail frame hand crafted by the Martin Brothers and has an eye popping candy over gold paint job that looks as if it has been poured over every sweeping line and topped off with white and gold flames that are finished with green pinstriping ,over $6,000 invested in the paint alone . There are many custom touches that will keep you looking .2016-07-26 04:54:16Cortez, Colorado, United States11800

MULE Motorcycles Yamaha XS 650 Flat Tracker (1978)
We have a beautiful Yamaha XS 650 Flat Tracker built by Mule Motorcycles, this bike was featured in the March 2007 issue of Iron Horse Magazine. This bike features a late 70's xs650 frame that was modified to accept a C&J head tube, a new down tube was fabricated with all chromoly tubing with all of the new engine mount bolts being grade 8 steel. The front end consists of custom clamps holding Showa adjustable dampening forks from a Buell X-1 Lightning attached to stainless handlebars from Woods racing and a headlight assembly from a Harley Sportster. The motor was completed disassembled and rebuilt, case were powdercoated with the top end being bead blasted. Mule Motorcycles used a Shell big bore 750 "street kit" along with all new gaskets and seals, new brass oil screens and finshed it off with new Barnett clutch springs. 34mm Mikuni carbs were used to get the fuel to the engine with K&N air filters to keep all of the dirt elements out of the motor while using a modified Triumph Speed Triple slipon exhaust system. 2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Review – First Ride
Wed, 28 Aug 2024Better suspension and Track mode brings us so close to an R9 Photos by Dave Schelske As the tail rider in a train of approximately seven identical Yamahas, I couldn’t help but watch in awe as each of us weaved our way through the notorious Tail of the Dragon, bending the bike underneath us to our will through the 120-something corners, the unison of the dance mesmerizing as each of us took our turn, one by one, around each apex, at irresponsible speeds, front wheels inches away from the person in front of us. This is the kind of trust you build up after you’ve ridden with the same group of people for years on end. We all know that riding with your friends is fun.

2024 Yamaha MT-09 Review – First Ride
Tue, 14 May 2024More minor changes in anticipation of the R9 Photos by Joseph Agustine. There really wasn’t a reason to update Yamaha’s MT-09. We love the MT-09, and apparently you do too – it’s been Yamaha’s best-selling MT model for a decade.
2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 First Ride
Wed, 13 Dec 2023Small updates keep the T7 fresh, but we're still missing out on the European variants Photos by Yamaha/Joseph Agustin Photo Yamaha’s popular Ténéré 700 “T7” adventure bike returns for 2024, and while it would be easy to say it is “largely unchanged” from the 2023 model, there have been some notable changes made in response to feedback from many North American riders. One wish still unrealized: the U.S. dealers won’t be getting the up-spec World Raid and numerous other versions of the T7 the EU enjoys - at least not this year.
