    Bike was built from a clean 8800 mile 1980 xs.TC bros. hardtail,Pamco electronic ign.,XS charge pma conversion,Mikuni round slide carbs with uni pod filters.New sportster tank .TC bros ridged rear fender,both painted with House of Colors ultra orange pearl.Has tapered neck bearings,new wheel bearings ,clutch pushrod seal replaced.New gold chain,new  front and rear brake pads.Bike was completely gone through and everything that needed replacing was and problem areas of the xs updated.Starts on 1or2 kicks cold and like half a kick when warm.Pipes were made from stock headpipes cut off and heat wrapped.Custom welded on sidemount liscence plate holder with old school tail light,wiring ran thru frame.The electric starter is on bike,just not wired in.Gel battery.Valves and timing chain adjusted.

    Here is a 1980 Yamaha XS Eleven with 54,813 miles that needs work,i picked this up locally from a party who wasnt completely honest about the condition of the bike he said it needed carb work,runs with the choke on only,battery,brake work and has a charging problem it doesnt charge might need a stater,but he didnt mention anything about the smoke that comes out of the left muffler and the oil that leaks a little from somewhere,i arrived at his house and he had it running i said its smoking out the left muffler and he said dont worry about that it will go away i had to use starting fluid to start it,i got home with the bike and it started without starting fluid but still smoked maybe even more than it did when i was talking to the seller so im guessing it needs valve seats,or valve work,or rings,or maybe the carbs are leaking gas down the cylinders or all of the above so im passing the project onto the next person who wants to repair it,tank is clean inside,throttle and choke move freely,i took a picture of the tach while it was running and got lucky for a secound and snapped a picture of the tach at  about five thousand rpms,clutch lever pulls in,tranni shifts threw all the gears good and i asked the seller if the tranni was good and he said yes,front brakes were dragging on the rotors so they had to be onbolted to move the bike,horn works,right turn signal works,left comes on but doesnt blink,headlite taillite and brake lite work,bike has a custom paint job and a touch up pen same color goes with also the tool kit,selling as is,buyer pays shipping and finds there own shipper not sure there prices i can meet them at my door and i dont really have the room to store the bike after the auction ends,paypal accepted as payment if your not local,i have a clear Title,auction may end early because a watcher on ebay might want to purchase the bike before the auction ends,Thanks for looking and good luck bidding Carl in forest lake minnesota 55025.

    ***1981 Yamaha XS1100 Midnight Special (1 of only 250 ever made!)***                                                                        Fall Special-Low reserve!   For sale is this awesome Yamaha XS 1100 Midnight Special.  If you are unaware of how rare these actually are, you should probably do some research before you bid.  This is one of only 500 ever, and one of only 250 for 1981!   Not only one of the rarest production Yamahas ever, one of the rarest production early Super-bikes as well---EVER!!!  Based on the company's big XS1100 sport-tourer introduced in the late 1970s, the 1981 Yamaha 1100 Midnight Special motorcycle differs from other Super-Bikes of the era in having a traditional Japanese inline four-cylinder engine rather than the trendy V-twin.  It also featured shaft drive, likewise carried over from the XS.  While an extended fork, teardrop tank, and stepped saddle made it clear this was a cruiser, the double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine gave it powerful performance unmatched by contemporary V-twins.  95 BHP and a blistering 112 MPH quarter mile time!

    FOR SALE - 1982 Yamaha 400 Heritage Special.  This hard to find model is in excellent used condition both mechanically and cosmetically.  It has covered only 6037 miles from new as of this date.  The bike needs nothing to be used every day as is.  There are no required repairs.  Everything works as it should.  Tires and the dual seat are in excellent condition.  Currently the bike has a set of black drag-style bars fitted, but the original chrome low riser-style bars are included with the sale.  The pipes are quiet, and acceleration is strong.  There will be no disappointments with this bike by any reasonable person - it is as nice as any used bike could be that has covered the indicated miles.  It is not in concours condition, but there are no apologies as to its condition.     A great bike.....only thing it needs is a right side muffler(has some rust out on the bottom)....starts and runs great....tires near new...lights all work as they should...high miles but I have a file from the original owner showing service and purchase records going back to when he purchased it new....seat was recovered professionally...paint does show sun fading but the chrome is very good for a bike of this age.........comes with the original owner manual and a book that is in a foreign language but has a lot of pictures....would not be afraid to ride the bike any where....open Illinois title.... Storage no charge as long as the bike is paid for in the time frame noted... $500 paypal deposit, balance cash or MO unless arrangements are made in advance....

Featuring the world’s largest-displacement air-cooled Inline-Four engine in production, the XJR1300 lives on in 2015 with a new custom-inspired look and a cafe racer variant. The 2015 XJR1300 was inspired by a custom from builder Keino called “Rhapsody in Blue” as part of Yamaha’s Yard Built program.

Yamaha Focusing on Developing Model Platforms

Following the success of its MT platform, Yamaha says it will continue to develop new models based on shared platforms, allowing for a choice of multiple models while reducing overall costs. Speaking in a presentation on the company’s business operation, Yamaha Motor President Hiroyuki Yanagi reiterated the strategy of developing multiple models sharing the same engine and frame. Honda has followed a similar strategy with its NC models, seeing the platform evolve to include the CTX700 and NM4.
