Yamaha XS description

Bike is in GOOD cosmetic shape. Good tires brakes tank seat battery ext... was on the road beginning of the riding season this year.  #2 piston is stuck. can turn motor by hand and see #1 and #3 piston move free. previous owner ran bike out of oil. I changed the filter and oil and got the bike to fire although it was loud and only ran for 10-20 seconds before #2 piston stuck/ broke. I have a clean and clear Michigan title. bike is located in Ohio. I have the factory air box although it is not shown in the pictures. Would make a very nice start to a custom cafe / brat / scrambler / tracker style build. bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end action at any time. thank you feel free to ask any questions ill answer them to the best of my ability.

Rumor: Yamaha Developing Inline Three Roadster

Wed, 25 Jan 2012

French motorcycle outlet Moto Revue reports Yamaha is developing a new three-cylinder middleweight. Citing an internal Yamaha document, Moto Revue reports the new naked model will feature an inline Triple engine, aluminum perimeter frame, upside-down fork and a triple-pipe exhaust like the MV Agusta F3 and Brutale 675. Yamaha has produced a Triple before, offering the XS750 from 1976-1979 before replacing it with the XS850 in 1980 and 1981 (pictured above is the 1981 Yamaha XS850.) The potential new model is still likely to be years away, so its look is yet to be determined, though Moto Revue does have a rendering that borrows some of the design elements from the FZ8.

Valentino Rossi is edging towards the twilight of his career and anything that has been attached to the biggest star to come out of MotoGP is destined to be worthy of a collector’s treasure trove. Whenever Rossi has raced at a track that has some kind of importance to the Italian his AGV often gets coated with a one-off Aldo Drudi special, this year has seen the Wake Up! and Faces designs.

Rumor Mill: Yamaha To Make R400 and R650

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Yamaha is set to put into production two new sporty bikes — the R400 and R650 —  according to “Young Machine” a Japanese motorcycle magazine. If true, this would fill a huge void in the manufacturer’s beginner sportbike bike lineup. It would make sense, considering the success of Suzuki’s SV650 (which later morphed into the Gladius and is now the SFV650), Kawasaki’s Ninja 650 (ER-6 in other markets), and even Honda’s CBR500R.
