Yamaha XS tech info
Yamaha XS description
Up for auction is my beloved XS. I have owned this bike for 18 years and the time has come to part ways. It was built to its current state last fall by me. Taken completely down to the frame, and built correctly, with an aim toward riding it a lot. I currently drive it 40 miles each way to work daily, and it's been trouble free. In 18 years, it's never left me stranded. Heres what was done: Motor taken down and gone over, New rings, timing chain, all new gaskets and seals, new sump filter, new one piece clutch pushrod, new front sprocket. Frame was completely inspected and visible ugly welds were ground and had nice weld passes laid down. Custom rear fender struts support a cut sportster rear fender.Stainless brake line. Custom Chrome master cylinder. Custom made handlebars. TC Brothers Choppers forward controls and side mount license plate with Model A LED light. Engine painted with ceramic, pipes professionally ceramic coated. Wheels powdercoated and laced with stainless spokes. Runs strong and with shorty pipes, it has quite a bark when you're ripping down the street. You will get more attention on this bike than you can imagine. Stopping for gas means someone will be checking it out every time. Kickstart only. This bike is just the basics. Raw and simple. Hidden switches for the ignition and lights. The key is used to open the gas tank and lock the forks when parked. 2014 Yamaha MT-125 Announced for Europe
Wed, 07 May 2014Yamaha has added a new 125cc model to its suddenly burgeoning MT series of naked streetbikes in the European market. The 2014 Yamaha MT-125 joins the MT-07, the MT-09 and the MT-09 Street Rally, all of which were introduced in the last year. Unfortunately for the moment only the MT-09 has been announced for the U.S.
Team Hammer Releases Martin Cardenas
Fri, 04 Jan 2013AMA Pro Racing’s Team Hammer has released Martin Cardenas from his contract to allow the reigning AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion “to better pursue his goal of returning to World Championship competition as soon as possible.” Though the eventual goal appears to be for Cardenas to move up to the World Superbike Championship, rumors have Cardenas landing with the Yoshimura Suzuki factory team to race in the AMA Superbike Championship in 2013 as an eventual stepping stone towards international racing. Cardenas won the 2010 and 2012 AMA Daytona Sportbike championships with Team Hammer riding a Suzuki GSX-R600. Team Hammer held a contract option for Cardenas for the 2013 season but decided to release the Colombian racer, allowing him to take a different route towards a WSBK career.
Bazzer at Oulton by Niall Mac
Tue, 28 Sep 2010There is no question that the BSB paddock has been split over the radical new points scoring system introduced for 2010. That said, no one can argue that the formula hasn't worked as we are in for the most exciting season end at the Oulton Park triple header on the 9th/10th of October. There may only be six riders in the final shoot out but there are at least another six that can win races, ultimately spoiling the party for the championship hopefuls.
