1972 Yamaha XS650 Original paint, chrome, handlebars, seat, gauges, fenders, everything except the slip on mufflers are an aftermarket muffler and they function well. It starts and runs good, shifts, brakes and the lights work too. The carbs were recently cleaned and the bike was tuned up, valves set, timing etc.... The mufflers are aftermarket and function nicely. The tires are good and the gauges work. Rims and spokes are original and very solid with just a few small rust spots. The fuel tank has some exterior oxidation as is evident on the lower right side, however, the tank is very solid and the rust is only surface rust. Chain and sprockets are good and function well. There are 3 small rips in the seat cover. It does have new air filters as well. This is not a perfect restored bike as you can see. But, it is an original time capsule. Bid to win!!! AMA Superbike: 2012 Daytona Results
Tue, 20 Mar 2012Josh Hayes and Blake Young picked things up where they left off by trading wins at the 2012 season-opening AMA Superbike round at Daytona International Speedway. Reigning champion Hayes of Monster Energy Graves Yamaha took the first race handily, leading almost right from the start of the 15-lap race for the win. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Young, who finished second to Hayes in the 2011 AMA Superbike Championship, responded by taking the second race, but only by a slim 0.002-second margin.
