Yamaha Virago description

Up for sale is my 1990 Virago 1100. This one is shaft drive, plenty of power starts and runs fine with no issues. It has a sissy bar, in the pictures it doesn't have the cushion but I ordered one its just not mounted, its included in the auction. The only reason that I'm selling is because I recently purchased a house and I need the money. On the right side of the bike the battery cover is missing it fell off when I was riding, also the fuel pump cover fell off too, it can be purchased on bikebandit.com. I also installed a new battery in this year and tires and brakes are a year old, tires still have new marks on them. The seat is original but in good condition. If you have any questions feel free to ask, thanks for looking. Bike is being sold with no warranties.

This is the third time I'm posting the bike due to issues with the first two buyers, I will not accept Cashier check, shipping the bike to anther country, or deliver the bike. There is a $200 non refundable deposit required within 2 days of listing end I will accept this through paypal but the difference is due cash in person. IF THIS IS NOT PAID THE BIKE WILL BE RE LISTED.  If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Filling a void with an RD350LC

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC.  It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching.  I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration.  Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience.  I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love.  And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor.  The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more.   I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy  next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects  out there so why not have a go yourself?

Last Year’s Surprise Podium Finisher Katsuyuki Nakasuga to Wild Card at Japanese GP

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Katsuyuki Nakasuga, the surprise podium finisher at last year’s MotoGP finale in Valencia, will have the chance to catch lightning in a bottle once again, after being granted a wild card entry to the 2013 Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi. Nakasuga shocked the racing world with a second-place finish at the Valencian Grand Prix last November as an injury replacement for then-Yamaha factory rider Ben Spies. Nakasuga made the cagey decision to run slick tires in the wet race.
