Yamaha Virago description

Please note -this is my ultra
 daily driver
very reliable, never lets me down, and I ride all the time.  Like any mechanical masterpiece especially with older bikes, occasionally there is an issue.  In the case of this Virago all projects in the present tense are minor (see bottom of listing)

Custom painted and hyper maintained Virago.  Over the winter carbs were cleaned professionally and the petcocks were replaced (very important) (receipts on file)(close to $400 by a master carb man in Cameron NC) and I have spark plugs cleaned every 500 miles at same shop for easy starts (not a guaranttee cause carbs sometimes have their own notion by the way but a true fact)
Tires good, brakes good, tranny shifts as it should, electrics work, horn buzzes,  42 mpg, loud pipes.
You would be hard pressed to find a finer Virago although one may exist somewhere.  I'd say 'ride anywhere'....
Windshield was scratched on a wall and has a bolt missing but no issues driving.

MPG
estimate  is my experience not guaranteed

Bag on seat NOT INCLUDED

Please note mirror on rt has been replaced with a very similar mirror.  Rectangular right reflector missing near fork. All in the name of disclosure! Any other issues have been rectified as MC is onan ongoing maintenance regime. Recent new front brake pads, oil and filter change,  new sissy bar bolts.  All electrics work - horn buzzes.

Magneti Marelli to Supply Electronics System to MotoGP Teams

Wed, 26 Sep 2012

It’s no secret that promoter Dorna Motorsports has been trying to push a standardized electronics control unit for teams in the MotoGP World Championship. The lack of a top-tier electronics package has been one of the biggest challenges faced by MotoGP’s claiming rule teams, and a spec ECU would narrow the gap between the CRT bikes and the factory prototypes. The manufacturers competing in the series, Honda, Ducati and Yamaha, understandably are resistant to the idea considering the effort they’ve put in to develop their electronics systems.
