Yamaha V Star description

You are looking at a 2003 Yamaha V-Star Classic with a 650cc engine. Model number XVS65A. It is purple in color with gray accent striping and lots of chrome. Purchased in April 2013 as a starter bike. I believe that I am the third owner. Phenomenal gas mileage and easy to ride. Flawless performance, just time for me to move up to the 2006 Harley-Davidson Street Bob I have sitting in my garage.New PA state inspection valid until August 31, 2014. Passed with flying colors. Front disc brakes at 6/32", and rear drum brakes at 5/32". Front Bridgestone tire with 3/32" tread, and rear Metzeler tire with 9/32" tread. Carburetors have recently been cleaned, and new NGK spark plugs will be installed before sale. There is some light scuffing on the rear fender where the passenger pillion pre-owned to sit; I'm going to try to buff most of this out, but in any case, it won't be noticeable should you choose to install a new passenger pillion. They're available for about $50 or so through eBay, and I can help you source 1 if desired. There is a small area of some residue on 1 of the exhaust pipes, but I am going to try to buff that off as well. Chrome is in wonderful shape, as is most of the paint with the exception of the defects I've mentioned.Blue Book retail value $2,900, Blue Book trade-in value $1,965. Willing to sell for $2,400 with universal saddlebags and Memphis shades windshield included and installed, or best credible offer.Additional photos available upon request.

Yamaha has made it clear the Bolt Café is only a reference model to showcase the customization potential of the Bolt. At its heart remains the Bolt’s 942cc V-Twin engine and double-cradle frame.

Yamaha has filed a lawsuit against a pair of Japanese companies alleging their electric scooter copies the design of the Yamaha Gear BX50 scooter. The Yamaha Gear  BX50 (pictured left above) is a 50cc four-stroke scooter sold in Japan as a commercial-use model, aimed for small business such as newspaper distributors. Yamaha has been offering the BX50 (and the BX50N variant) since 2007, selling 39,917 units as of December 2011.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.
